Rock n Renovation: Revamp, Restyle, Reveal!

Wow that's a lot of words beginning with R right there. I am so very VERY excited about this project though so all that alliteration is worth it to share the news! Revamp, Restyle, Reveal is an interiors challenge which I was asked to take part in by interior designer Lisa Dawson (I mentioned her in my favourite interiors Instagram accounts a few months ago, isn't it funny how these things always come full circle!?) and blogger extraordinaire Bianca Hall of French for Pineapple. The concept is simple: 10 bloggers, 9 brands, 1 room, 4 weeks. It's kind of like Changing Rooms meets 60 Minute Makeover but without Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen, Linda Barker or Peter Andre (didn't he present 60 Minute Makeover for a hot minute? It's probably quite shameful that I know that).

Tara and Mido's wedding took place in December has style in buckets - and we mean BIG buckets. Christmastime is magical in London anyway but this gorgeous couple really brought the sparkle and glamour with their celebration. They described it as 'Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet meets a Vanity Fair shoot' - we love that! The wonderfully talented Lisa from Devlin Photos captured it perfectly in all its glory.

Lovebirds since just after high school, Gabi and Jacob, also known as Stinky and Barnes, married at home on Little Belly Farm in the coolest most laidback ceremony that shows what might happen if an art gallery met a music festival. There was tons of DIY done by their friends - even down to having their guests bring their own food and booze. Because of this generosity, the day only cos the couple $3,000. Their friends loved that it was more like a big party where the couple happened to be getting married rather than a straight-up formal wedding too!

Laura and Chris wanted to create a warm wedding that they knew all their guests would love, and their autumnal Scottish celebration was just that. They wanted lots of red, orange and yellow, and they had floral pumpkins, fairy lights and leaves everywhere. They served a hog roast for the meal and had lots of candles in their architecturally stunning venue. It ended up a bit Hogwarts-like, in a wonderful way!

Liz and Marc's big day has it all: Succulents, vintage style, a canal boat, Dolly Parton covers, a handmade quartz crystal crown and matching leather jackets with portraits of their Huskies painted on them! They wanted everyone to come to the wedding and say "This is so you two!" - and we think they TOTALLY nailed it. From the start of the wedding journey, when Marc proposed with his Nan's 70 year old ring during a period of serious illness for Liz, we knew it was going to be an emotional and personal one - but it's also super stylish and a riot of fun too.

In four days Gareth and I will celebrate our TEN YEAR wedding anniversary. I can't quite believe it! A DECADE. With such a momentous milestone coming up, last year I started to think about ways we could celebrate. While moving over the summer, I pulled my wedding dress out of the back of my wardrobe to bring it over to the new house and I realised, bar a few photo shoots at the start of my blogging career (anyone remember these?!) it's pretty much sat there, collecting dust and getting all moth-eaten, since then. It's actually kinda sad when you think about it. You spend such a happy, important day in this dress and then it's either sold on, trashed or, like mine, relegated to the back of a closet.

After deciding to get married in 2018, Sara and Mark began to plan their wedding in the UK complete with a large guest list, a woodland setting and tipis, festoon lights and a whimsical, autumnal theme. Sadly, their venue went into liquidation so they had to cancel everything and start again. They were going to go to Vegas, but then THAT got cancelled due to COVID so they had to start planning all over again! This time, and after all the stress and two cancellations, they opted to do something entirely different.

Although married in California, Skyelar and Adam were very much inspired by the bride's Louisiana roots in the the greenery and general vibe of their winter wedding.
