Uber-cool Hackney Wedding with a Canal Boat Arrival

October 16, 2018

Gigi and Ale's big day deserves big words: This is one of my favourite weddings I've ever seen, ever, and that includes in every outlet and in every Instagram scroll. In their own words, "The whole day oozed relaxation and the ability for everyone to dismiss the fact that weddings are quite often stuffy and just let loose!" They arrived on a canal boat waving flares, left wearing trainers, and in the middle did a whole lot of incredible celebrating...

When the bride is a literal, bona fide rockstar, you know the wedding's going to be a corker - and Cato (AKA CATO Sound) and Nick's wedding definitely did not disappoint. They flipped the status quo with a house party and night out dancing on the Saturday and their ceremony and brunch on the Sunday! Cato's outfit also ticks every box ("Gotta have pants, gotta have pockets, gotta have a train" she said) as do their incredible photos. Let's begin, shall we?

October 13, 2018

When you think of a Friday 13th wedding you'd be forgiven for assuming it would likely be a spooky, horror or Halloween themed bash, but Elizabeth and Adam wanted to flip this idea on its head, instead opting for a wedding theme that represented their colourful personalities! The colour scheme primarily featured hot pink, lush tropical greens and metallic gold and oh my goodness does it look all kinds of wonderful!

Samantha and Mike were married in August and they had a few different priorities. They wanted to ensure that they didn't overspend (they rigidly stuck to their £11,000 budget), and they wanted the day to feel like them. They were hitched at Southwick D-Day Memorial Hall, which isn't a licensed wedding venue (so they did the legal bit a few days before) meaning they had a lot of freedom to do what they wanted on the day itself and it only cost them £750 to hire it for the whole weekend!

October 11, 2018

Jamie and Michael had two very different wedding celebrations -  a small family-focused event in the scorching heat in Malaga and a second a few weeks later, for all the rest of their friends and family back home in Belfast... in the rain! The two events couldn't be more different (the bride even changed her hair colour between the two!) but both felt completely right for them. After all, isn't that what being a Rock n Roll bride is all about?

South American Inspired Autumnal NYC Wedding

October 5, 2018

As same sex marriage was not yet legal where they live in Australia, Scott and Carlos chose to have their destination wedding in New York, which for them, represents a multicultural, vibrant and positive city where millions of different people co-exist. Being in New York meant they were able to forget all their worries - how LGBTQ rights were about to be put out for debate in Australia and the furore that surrounded it, about going back to an unknown future in their home country of Venezuela that was/is falling apart, or the daily struggles and challenges in their everyday lives - and simply celebrate their love.

October 3, 2018

It's not often a wedding literally stops me in my tracks but as soon as Emma and Ian's Las Vegas wedding landed in my inbox I was OBSESSED. Their email read, "Dear Kat, we got married at The Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas on September 21st. The bride is Emma, a funeral director, the groom is Ian, a musician and artist. We had planned a holiday visiting friends in Vegas and thought it was the perfect opportunity for a quiet, intimate ceremony… Oh and the groom is a crossdresser and insisted on having a dress too."

Kitsch, Colourful, Mid-Century Wedding Party

October 1, 2018

Robyn and Ash were legally married in Vegas at the Chapel of the Flowers but they wanted to host a big party when they got back to Yorkshire for all their family and friends. The party had a really low key, retro and kitsch vibe, hosted at their local community centre. The flowers came from a local flower market, the cakes were from various supermarkets and the stationery was made by the bride. Instead of a fancy meal they served wood-fired pizza and the night ended with - who else? - an Elvis impersonator!

Red & White Rockabilly Wedding with Pigs!

September 29, 2018

For their winter wedding, Trixie and Sam were inspired by the resident pigs at their venue, South Farm in Cambridgeshire. As soon as they found out about them they decided that they had to incorporate them into the theme of the day. All the tables were named after different species with their own facts on the table markers. They added a tattoo/ rockabilly element with their choice of cake, place settings and the temporary tattoo station which was a huge hit with the guests.
