Sarah loves decorating her and Richard’s house for Christmas, so this drew the first inspiration for the couple’s November wedding day. “We wanted a family friendly, rustic yet glamorous, cosy and romantic winter wedding,” explained Sarah. “I love decorating the house for Christmas with rustic, old fashioned decorations and lots of winter foliage, and wanted to capture that coziness for our wedding. I also love all things vintage, especially 1950s and Rockabilly, and had to give a nod to the styles I love so much.”Read more...

In doing their initial research, Sarah and Brian quickly started to realise that for the price of a traditional package wedding at a hotel or resort, they could instead piece it together using the people, places and things they already loved. “Using our everyday favourite things as inspiration for our day made decisions easier and the wedding itself feel authentic and real.” said Sarah.Read more...

James and Bex go to Glastonbury every single year, but as there was no festival in 2018, they decided they would get married on the same weekend and host their own! The day was held at The Pheasantry Brewery, near their home in Nottinghamshire. As well as making their day feel perfect for them, their family and in particular their children ,were a really important part of the day. Between them they have five kids, two each from previous relationships and the youngest, Frank, together. A lot of weddings follow the same format... Even non-traditional weddings can end up looking quite similar. But I think we can safely say that Pati and Francesco (aka Salsa and Disco Jesus - yes, really!) completely tore up the rule book for their Vegas elopement! Apart from the ceremony, where they were married by Elvis (arguably one of the biggest Vegas traditions there is!), everything else was one-of-a-kind and completely and utterly them.Read more...

As a young, queer, non-religious, vegan couple, Jazz and Atticus didn’t feel the need to fit any traditional ideas of what a wedding should be. “We filled our wedding with nods to who we really are, that those who are in the know would recognise, but that the great-aunties would be totally oblivious to,” said Jazz.Read more...

If you've picked up a copy of my book, then you may recognise Dafna and Eylon as their Las Vegas elopement is one of the real weddings featured inside. I LOVED those images and their story so much! Although they always wanted to get married in Vegas, they also wanted to celebrate with their loved ones back home in Tel Aviv, so it was the perfect excuse to have for a second wedding. The day was held at Bascula, a cultural arts centre that is home to a circus.Read more...

George and Antoinette met when they both moved to Milan to study fashion, meeting through a mutual friend that also attended the school. “We have actually been together for 12 years,” said Antoinette, “but because we both have a very rebellious spirit we didn’t want to give in to all the social and family pressure to actually get married, it wasn’t a priority for either of us. When we finally decided to do it, we wanted it to be more of a celebration of the past 12 years and as well as starting a new future together.”Read more...
