Punk Rock Meets Brit Pop Inspired London Wedding

Sophie Cooke

Jordanna Marston

March 19, 2019

Laura was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar (yes, really!) when she met Lewis, and despite not charming her right away, they soon started to bond over their love of music. The couple are huge music lovers, with eclectic tastes, something that eventually made them click. With this in mind, they wanted to incorporate music into their wedding day as much as possible, so held their reception at Bush Hall in West London and booked London wedding photographer Jordanna Marston to capture their day.

Fashion-Forward Festival Wedding with an Alexander McQueen Inspired Dress

Ronnie Hall

January 25, 2019

Let's just start by talking about how OBSESSED I am with Hannah's bridal outfit. Inspired by queen of frills Molly Goddard and king of style Alexander McQueen, her dress was made by her super talented friend Nadia Tahari. There was a running theme for Hannah and Sam's wedding - to create something really relaxed and personal day which involved all of their family and friends. It's safe to say they smashed it.

Music Inspired Winter Wedding with an Alternative Church Ceremony!

Sarah Morris

July 26, 2018

Music holds a special place in Katie and Darren’s heart - both musicians, Darren proposed at the gig of one of their favourite bands, and were introduced through musical friends. They’ve always liked to do things a little differently, and so it was obvious from the start that their wedding wouldn’t be predictable. Darren kicked off eschewing the norm when he wrote ‘yes!’ on Katie’s finger with a Sharpie instead of giving her a ring after he proposed!

Colourful & Casual September Wedding

Rachel Webb

Bless

April 11, 2017

Amy and Patrick had a very short engagement; they decided in April that they would get married in September! They wanted their wedding to reflect who they are, to be at a beautiful venue, and have amazing food and great music. It was also important to them that it was a relaxed, casual day that included all their guests. They decided to source and plan it all themselves, to make it truly reflect 'them', which also meant they could tweak things and push more money into the 'guest experience'.

Batman, Fish & Beards – A Party-Hard Nightclub Wedding: Dustin & Morgan

Kat

April 30, 2012

You'd be shocked at the number of emails I recieve from brides-to-be who tell me they love my site and the weddings I feature but that they're worried that their wedding will somehow not 'measure up' or be 'as cool' as the weddings they see online. My response to these girls is always the same: your wedding is not a 'coolness' competition or a chance to show off. Your wedding is for you and your partner and it will be awesome because you are awesome. The love is the most important thing, not the amazing centrepieces, the quirky stationery or the beautiful dress. These things are meant to enhance your day for you, to be fun and exciting, they do not and will not define anything other than that. So why did I want to mention that again today? Well Dustin & Morgan's wedding is pretty much the epitome of Rock n Roll awesome. It wasn't detail-heavy or wedding blog pretty - it was just a seriously awesome party! It celebrated their love in their way and they were 100% unapologetic about that fact... And you know what? It's one of my favourite weddings that's I've featured in a long time! So, forget about the bunting, the mason jars or the designer frock and focus on what's important - the LOVE (and in this case, the dancing)...

Mark Niemierko’s Valentine’s Party at Spencer Hart, London

Kat

February 14, 2012

Last week Gareth & I were lucky enough to be invited to Mark Niemierko's annual Valentine's party, this year held at Spencer Hart Tailors located on Saville Row in Mayfair. I wore a vintage pink 1950s prom dress for the occasion which I had picked up from my favourite vintage shop in all the land, Frock n Roll. As a little v-day treat, I thought you might like to see some photos (hello pink lighting!) and the fabulous video. I was even interviewed for this one!

Rock n Roll Bride Party Report – Photo Booth Carnage

Kat

April 18, 2011

Deciding to have a photo booth at the Rock n Roll Bride Party was probably the most genius thing ever. I asked everyone to bring a prop and people really did go all out! From a customised uke to an inflatable pink wig... from gold hot pants to a laser cut 'It's my party and I'll Rock n Roll if I want to'... from a blow up pink flamingo to a parrot (!) I was so excited that people made such an effort. Lisa of Lisa Jane Photography was in charge of the booth-action, and I'm pretty sure she didn't stop taking photos all night! So without further ado, check out the hilarity that was the Rock n Roll Bride photo booth.

Rock n Roll Bride Party Report – 14th April 2011, London

Kat

April 18, 2011

So now I've got a party report to write...Wow. Erm wow. Where do I begin with this baby huh?! SO much happened...and it's going to be hard to sum it all up in a few paragraphs but here goes... Last Thursday I hosted a party and invited anyone who reads this blog to come along. Over 500 of you applied for tickets and 200 lucky brides & grooms-to-be and wedding industry professionals were asked to come along. The idea being that everybody I know works so hard, whether that be with their businesses or planning their weddings, so I wanted to give everyone an excuse to take a night off, dress up, eat cupcakes and sweeties, drink cocktails and generally get a little bit silly. And we did. Oh we did. The day started with Gareth & I hopping on the train to London to meet the awesome Elbie Van Eeden (she got married in March - you saw her fabulous wedding on my blog right?) who did our hair and my make up. When we arrived, Elbie said she'd been up all night thinking of ideas for my tresses and did I was the rainbow back? Erm yes pleeease! This time she did a kind of 'dipped' effect, where she just added the extra colours to the bottom half of sections of my hair. We kept the styling relatively simple with a few curls to really show off the colours. I adore it.

Happy Valentine’s Day – Smooooooozing and Swanning Around The Mark Niemierko & Browns Bride Valentine’s Party

Kat

February 14, 2011

After Tuesday's wedding blogger's shoot came Mark Niemierko's Valentine's Party, hosted by Caroline Burstein of Browns Bride (pictured above). Let me get one thing straight here... I was more than a little bit surprised to receive an invite to such an event. "Seriously? Me? a pink (well rainbow) haired slightly-punky-in-no-way 'high end' wedding blogger...really?! You want ME so come and cover the event? Erm... OK then" Was pretty much the thought process I had when the invitation landed through my door.
