Adam and Mike's wedding was the first legal ceremony to be held at Lancaster Castle. The ceremony was originally supposed to be at the registrar's office, but when their reception venue contacted them two months before the wedding to tell them they could now perform ceremonies too, they jumped at the chance to be the first ever couple to be married there.Read more...

The glorious wedding of Val and Jones was held at Vinyols Camps in Spain. They wanted the day to be relaxed, fun and full of details that were personal to them. Val carried a 'bouquet' of broccoli instead of flowers because she is a huge advocate for sustainability and minimalism, and they drank tea as part of their ceremony because they both love it!Read more...

The incredible wedding of Robin and Jeannine took place at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens in August. "As a queer couple (gay, female identified Jeannine and gender/queer, trans identified Robin) we found it important to craft our wedding and the many details on our own so that it didn't fall into a too traditional event that we ourselves didn't fit into", they told me. "We used and encouraged gender-neutral language, used as many recycled materials as possible, and put our hearts and energy into all the aspects of what turned out to be an incredible day. Sam and Sarah were married at Hornington Manor Farm, York in August. They hired their venue for five whole days so they could have a week-long celebration with their loved ones. "From the moment Sam asked me to marry her we were adamant that we wanted a really personalised wedding which was about us as a couple", began Sarah. Sarah and Sibley's wedding was held at The Barn at South Milton. They planned a day to celebrate them, the joining of their families and do have a damn good time! Spending just £7000, they saved money by wearing high street clobber (Sarah's incredible sequinned dress from JS Collections at House of Fraser and Sibley's snappy suit from Moss Bros) having a DIY cake, picking wild flowers and making all their own paper goods and decorations.Read more...

Amanda and Briar were married at Ball's Falls Conservation Area in the Niagara Region of Ontario, Canada. Their ceremony was in the local chapel and their reception at a nearby barn. Marissa and Lauren were married in the gardens of St. Anne's Academy in Victoria, British Columbia. They wanted their wedding to be intimate and frugal, except when it came to their photographs. They knew those had to be incredible so they booked the AMAZING Nordica Photography who flew over from Stockholm to shoot the day. The made the picnic baskets themselves, including almond stuffed figs which were grown, dried and made by Marissa's grandmother in Portugal. The flowers were bought from a local market - Marissa's bouquet cost $3.99! They also made all the décor themselves.Read more...

David and David met online in 2006. They chatted for a few days and then had their first date at a local tapas restaurant. They both studied at the University of Manchester, so they chose the Museum at the university for their wedding venue.
