Ahh Lily and Claribell’s wedding brings us so much joy!! They were married at My Moon Restaurant in Brooklyn and although they had just $5000 to spend their day was beautiful and so right for them! The theme was a combination of keeping things simple and intimate but with rustic and romantic touches. They wanted to celebrate their day with their closest loved ones and avoid anything to formal or fancy.

“Our inspiration was for it to be romantic and simple”, they explained. “We loved that our venue provide everything for us and we didn’t have to go crazy hiring multiple people to put our vision together, My Moon had everything we wanted from decor to ceremony space.”

With just 35 guests in attendance, their ceremony was personal and very emotional. “Our day started at our house with hair and makeup and before the ceremony we meet with our photographer for some photos around Brooklyn. We then went to My Moon to start the ceremony, it was so emotional for us. Claribell walked down the aisle with her daughter and Lily walked down the aisle with her father. That moment is a memory we will hold in our hearts forever. Our officiant Joel was the BEST! He describe our love story like I’ve never heard before. Joel was patient, kind and from our guest say so cool! I would not have changed a thing, perfect! The ceremony was our favourite part of the wedding. We loved how everything was coordinated, how Joel and the team presented our families as one and us sharing our love with our close friends and family.”

Lily wore a David’s Bridal gown and Claribell rocked a J Crew navy suit. They saved money by having a small number of guests and having a venue that provided almost all of the decor. “To be quite honest that’s why we picked that specific venue”, they said. “We loved how simple yet beautiful everything was. We kept saying we don’t need to hire or get more because everything we want is here.”

“We enjoyed every single moment of our special day and I know a lot of married couples that can’t say they did that”, Lily concluded. “I know we can look back 10 years from now and remember every detail of the day. I also just want to add that LOVE IS LOVE! We are very blessed to share our story with you and the world on how it’s OK to love who you love no matter what gender, race, or sexual orientation. Everyone deserves LOVE!”
