Have you been stressing with your wedding planning? Getting all in a cafuddle about to what you should be organising next, when all your wedding appointments are and how much you’ve spent? Or are you a wedding industry professional and you can for the life of you keep track of all the ‘stuff’ that’s going on? Well my dears, I’m here to help. In collaboration Sugalily and notonthehighstreet.com, I am proud to announce the launch of the Rock n Roll Bride wedding planning notebooks and the 2012 wallplanners! Some of you may remember I did a similar project last year with Sugalily, but as these things always go, this year we’ve gone bigger and better and we're also pretty thrilled to have notonthehighstreet.com on board too.Read more...

First of all, a big load of love to everyone who took the time to comment, tweet, facebook or email me about the ‘Rock n Riot’ shoot yesterday. As ever I have been blown away with your love and support. I’m thrilled with the results but I always have to go one step further huh? So today I have the behind the scenes shots from Emma Case and video awesomeness from Pete Smyth & Simon Clarke to share. But that's not all, the styling genius that is the Ava team have also kindly popped by to explain a bit more about how they executed this epic (this word keeps cropping up in relation to this shoot…but seriously, I don’t think anything else could describe it as well!) styled shoot.Read more...

That time has come again when I have to put into words a day of so much epicness that it’s hard to know even where to begin. My latest big photo shoot was the brainchild of myself and florist Amy Grzegorzek of Little A in Birmingham. We first met at the Designer Vintage Bridal Fair in February and after seeing her beautiful vintage-inspired table settings, we got talking about working on a collaboration. She told me how she was about to launch Ava Event Styling, alongside Amanda of Bonne Fête and Vickie of The Boutique Baking Company, so a shoot like this would really be the very best way to enter the scene with a bang! “I’d love to do something really mental one day, shake things up a bit” Amy told me. “Yeah…like a punk themed wedding?” I asked. Amy’s face lit up like a child on Christmas morning and I’m pretty sure she let out a little squeal. “Yes! OMG yes, can we do it?!” …well put it this way, she didn’t have to ask me twice.Read more...

Ever since my shoot in Paris I've had a bit of a 'thing' for anything Marie Antoinette - the fashion, the hair, the make up - it pretty much makes me go all giddy inside. So when this shoot landed on my desk last week I didn't hesitate to email photographer Beth right back to say yes to sharing them as soon a possible.Read more...

This week I was Birmingham for my latest photo shoot. As always, I am so excited to share the results and as ever I've tried, with my trusty team, to go bigger and better with the theming, styling and general execution of the whole thing. The brief I gave was 'punk!' and the team I worked with on Wednesday were incredible (literally words can't describe) and really got into the whole idea. Every single person brought their own adaptation of the theme along, and somehow it actually worked together brilliantly.Read more...

I die. Could fashion photographer Lara Jade's latest editoral shoot be any more delicious? Neon hair, multi-coloured balloon, high fashion, stunning light. It is my dream to be photographed by Lara one day. Shots like this illustrate why. I have no more words. Just loose yourself in this magic for a few minutes...Read more...

Not that many people realise this but I'm from Reading, a town about 40 miles out of London. I've never really done that much 'stuff' in my home town as to be honest, pretty much everything happens in London and that's where about 90% of my contacts are. However when local photographer Neil Horne of Eye Imagine Photography called me and asked if I'd like to be included in an exhibition he was putting together for the Museum of Reading entitled 'A Sense of Culture', where he'd be photographing a selection of artists in the town...well I jumped at the chance. Hell, I went to this museum on primary school trips!Read more...

Deciding to have a photo booth at the Rock n Roll Bride Party was probably the most genius thing ever. I asked everyone to bring a prop and people really did go all out! From a customised uke to an inflatable pink wig... from gold hot pants to a laser cut 'It's my party and I'll Rock n Roll if I want to'... from a blow up pink flamingo to a parrot (!) I was so excited that people made such an effort. Lisa of Lisa Jane Photography was in charge of the booth-action, and I'm pretty sure she didn't stop taking photos all night! So without further ado, check out the hilarity that was the Rock n Roll Bride photo booth.Read more...

So now I've got a party report to write...Wow. Erm wow. Where do I begin with this baby huh?! SO much happened...and it's going to be hard to sum it all up in a few paragraphs but here goes... Last Thursday I hosted a party and invited anyone who reads this blog to come along. Over 500 of you applied for tickets and 200 lucky brides & grooms-to-be and wedding industry professionals were asked to come along. The idea being that everybody I know works so hard, whether that be with their businesses or planning their weddings, so I wanted to give everyone an excuse to take a night off, dress up, eat cupcakes and sweeties, drink cocktails and generally get a little bit silly. And we did. Oh we did. The day started with Gareth & I hopping on the train to London to meet the awesome Elbie Van Eeden (she got married in March - you saw her fabulous wedding on my blog right?) who did our hair and my make up. When we arrived, Elbie said she'd been up all night thinking of ideas for my tresses and did I was the rainbow back? Erm yes pleeease! This time she did a kind of 'dipped' effect, where she just added the extra colours to the bottom half of sections of my hair. We kept the styling relatively simple with a few curls to really show off the colours. I adore it.Read more...

Today is Gareth's & my 'marriversary.' We were married 3 years ago on our 6 year anniversary (yeah, we kept the date the same...so much easier to only have to remember one date!) Happy 3 year marriversay/9 year anniversary baby. I love you all of it and I couldn't do this without you.Read more...

About a week ago, I got an email from my friend Amma telling me about a new book she'd just heard about. London Tattoo, was being put together by photographer Alex Macnaughton with the aim to photograph and document the stories of a diverse collection of tattooed people in London. I figured I had nothing to loose and so quickly filled in the application form. "I'm not the most tattooed girl out there," I thought, "but it's always worth giving these things a go."Read more...

I sneak peeked this shoot back in February but I had to wait until now to share the full thing...sorry to keep you all waiting, it was hard for me too! I was asked by Lisa & Tania, the vintage jewellery aficionados behind Magpie Vintage if I'd like to model for their latest campaign - the launch of their brand new clothing line. Needless to say I didn't need much convincing, even when they told me I had to get on a horse!Read more...

I almost don't know where to start with writing this post as the whole day is kind of a blur...a fabulous adrenalin-fuelled blur...but a blur none the less. In actual fact, I know you really all just want to see the photos and video (eek!) of me walking the catwalk so shall we just cut to the chase and get straight to it? In actual fact, I know you really all just want to see the photos and video (eek!) of me walking the catwalk so shall we just cut the rambles and get straight onto them? HUGE thanks to Eye Imagine Photos, Eliza Claire Photography & Shell de Mar Photography (check the file names to see who shot which images) for taking these photos for me.Read more...

You know I've got a bit of a 'thing' for Marie Antoinette right? Well Marie Antoinette + pink hair couldn't really be more perfect for Rock n Roll Bride if it tried could it? "This is what happened when 2 crazy photographers from different states in Australia put their heads together," began photographer Vanessa. "It all started with a wig Rhondda found on the internet (not the 1 we used actually) and after many chats and emails later we came up with Marie Antoinette as a bride. I wanted a bouquet out of the norm and didn't really want traditional flowers in it. What better florists to put my thoughts of an "APPLE" bouquet into something fab.."Velvetlily" florist. So after a talking to them about want I wanted they came up with this amazing result! I also wanted apples and vine in the hair!!..a bit of a task for the make-up artist but we got there in the end."Read more...

As many of you now know, on Monday I'll be walking down the catwalk at The Luella's Boudoir Wedding Fair. This week I was invited by Darren Fowler, Creative Director of the fabulous salon Clipso London to come meet him for a hair trial, and by the equally delightful Rachel Atwell, owner of Luella's Boudoir, for a dress fitting (well actually for 5 dress fittings...I found out I'm wearing 5 different outfits! talk about throwing me in at the deep end...) So on Wednesday, I got my little pink haired self on an early train to the city for a day of preening, pampering and for a little bit of freaking out.Read more...

It seems like forever ago now, but last year my friend Marianne Taylor sent me an email to let me know about an amazing and life-changing workshop she'd just completed. Hosted by Canadian photographer Jesh de Rox, the Life {as an artform} workshop had taught her some new techniques that she was desperate to try out and she asked if Gareth & I would model for her. This workshop wasn't a technical or a 'how to run your business' one. It didn't teach her a new technique with her camera or show her how to be a more successful photographer...it taught her how to use emotional exercises in order to bring the couple together, in the moment, and into a state where they are not afraid to show their true selves and explore the connection they have.Read more...

"Everyone said for me to wear white would be the shocking thing" the bride, Cazz, told me. "My dream was to look like a cupcake. A big pink cupcake. It had to be pink, black and with polka dots. My dress was purchased off eBay for $40. It was a used costume from Buddy Holly the musical! One of my lovely maids of honour altered it for me and added my dream large black bow." I think that Cazz's dress might have helped to set the whole theme for her awesome wedding to Liam - a big pink cupcake of a wedding! Cazz wore shoes with cupcakes (and skulls!) on them and as well as a slightly more traditional tiered cake, which was gift, they had...you guessed it...cupcakes!Read more...

Oh Debbie & Jamie how I heart thee! This Belfast couple had their very own rockabilly wedding at Belfast City Hall, followed by a suitability rockin' reception at The Printers Café. "My name is Debbie and I run a vintage nail salon in Belfast called Dazzle Me With Your Tips," the bride emailed me. "In my spare time I sell vintage clothes, accessories and homewares at vintage fairs and arts and crafts markets and also work as a stylist with several photographers. Jamie my now husband is a Maintenance Manager for a cleaning services company and his passions outside of the 9 to 5 are Skating, and BMX and Metal Sculpture. We both love getting inked going to rockabilly nights and festivals and most of all touring around Ireland in our beloved VW camper van Burt with our daughter Ellie." I loved them already.Read more...
