Chilled & Tropical Wedding in Thailand

If this bride looks familiar to you it might be because you saw her modelling in Rock n Roll Bride magazine last year! When we met for that shoot, Martha told me all about her Thailand wedding plans so as you can imagine I’m totally thrilled to be sharing it with you today!

She and her fiance Kris decided that a big formal wedding wasn’t for them. Instead they wanted to fly to somewhere they’d never been before, taking eight of their friends and family members along for the ride. They also brought their besties, The Costa Sisters with them to do their epic wedding video. And epic really is the only way to describe what they produced.

You’re going to want to turn this UP!

They were married in February at Rocky’s Resort in Koh Samui. They spent five glorious days in the resort followed by travelling around Thailand for their honeymoon.

“Our wedding was chilled and tropical”, explained Martha. “We love to travel and Thailand was on our bucket list, so we thought why not combine the two?  We spent three weeks travelling around Thailand before and after our wedding. We just wanted to do what WE really wanted. After all a wedding is about the two of you and how you want to celebrate your relationship. It was perfect for us.”

Romantic Boho Wedding in Mallorca

Neus and Joan’s Spanish wedding is nothing short of dreamy. Hosted on their family estate in Palma, Mallorca, their day was laidback luxe with romantic boho touches.

As all good love stories do, Neus and Joan’s starts with the sentence “a bacon sandwich and a coke, please”. They met in bar where Joan used to have breakfast every morning, and fell in love instantly! “With those first words none of us would have thought that a love would grow from it, but against all odds we feel for each other and all the differences were left aside to start our love story,” Neus says.

“The inspiration was my personality!” she continues. “It was all very personal – it was held in our family and my cousin, Margalida, officiated it.” Their ceremony was held in a secluded area of the estate with guests lining the stone path to watch. Their florist suspended single flower heads from above stacked with greenery, and attached romantic floral arrangements to the ends of the chairs, as well as creating a boho arch made of greenery.

Greek Mythology Inspired Elopement in the Dominican Republic

YOU GUYS! Stop everything because you need to see this incredible elopement like NOW. Married in January on Macao beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Masya and Sasha, who live in Russia, had a traditional Greek ceremony in the most non-traditional way!

Maysa explains her feelings for her newly minted husband: “We believe that God creates us in two halves. One half remains within us and the better half is disunited. The journey of our lives is to wander through continents, oceans, nationalities, and social status to reunite with our other half. I recognised Sasha as my better half who I had been searching all my life as soon we we met. The feeling came to me so instinctively that I knew he was my soul mate. I have never felt so happy before when I am with Sasha. We are so much like each other that you can say we are our own reflection.”

Fittingly for last week’s heatwave, we have Kenzi and Joel’s romantic beach elopement on the blog today, and it is HOT. They took to Gran Canaria to renew their vows in an intimate ceremony, the photos of which are an absolute bohemian dream.

Gran Canaria Wedding Photographer SuperWeddings accompanied them to the beach to capture the passion between the couple. Having first met them at a workshop, Sebastian says “Everyone was so excited at how cool they looked. Kenzi was just stunning, and Joel had the coolest beard and tattoos on the island for sure.”

Tropical Glam Wedding in the Cayman Islands

Lauren, originally from the Cayman Islands, married Colin, from Huddersfield, in September. They met in Leeds when the bride was studying for her masters and the groom was working in IT. After being together for two and a half years Lauren was offered a job back home in Cayman so Colin moved with her and they got engaged!

The wedding was held at Kaibo Restaurant, Beach Bar and Marina which has the most gorgeous beach backdrop. “Our wedding theme was ‘Tropical Glam’”, said Lauren. “The inspiration for our wedding was actually a piece of fabric. I saw this gorgeous turquoise fabric with monstera leaves on Google images and thought, ‘Oooh that would make a lovely table runner’, and the whole thing spun out from there. We knew that we wanted our wedding to have a tropical vibe, but as we were already having it on a beach we didn’t want to go too kitschy. Instead of seashells we decided to go for bright tropical flowers and beachy greenery with décor in shades of turquoise (reminiscent of the ocean) with metallic gold for a hint of glam.”

Minimalist & Tropical Maui Beach Wedding

Underground rapper and producer, Eli (Eligh) married Jessica at the Aloha Aku Inn & Suites in Maui, a place they have loved and visited together for a long time. They wanted a simple and beautiful ceremony followed by a low key celebration with their nearest and dearest.

“The inspiration for our wedding was just to get married in our favourite place and have everyone there with us”, said Jessica. “We decided to rent out Aloha Aku for both of our immediate families and stay there with them prior to and a couple days after the wedding. It was really fun to walk out onto the lawn where we stayed and basically get married in the backyard. It felt more like our home for the week than a venue. Spending the first couple of days with our family as a married couple, prior to honeymooning, was such a unique experience and I’m so glad we did it that way.”

The bride wore a stunning, yet simple, dress which wasn’t a wedding dress at all. “My dress was from Camille La Vie and I found it for $200 dress in the evening gown section. I knew I wanted something simple and beach appropriate – it even had a train. Wedding dresses at Camille la vie started at $800 so this was a total bargain.” Eli kept his outfit simple too with trousers from Topman, a shirt from Urban Outfitters and Reef sandals.
