Horses and weddings. Not an obvious combination of inspiration for a shoot (unless you're thinking horse-drawn carriage) but needless to say it works really well. The Autumnal colours, the soft tones and the moody setting make this shoot beautiful and really different. "Everything took place at the old Ippodrome of San Marone located in Civitanova Marche, Italy", wrote wedding photographer Paolo Manzi. "It's an amazing racecourse in the middle of the countryside. There are only a few race every year, but it's still a lovely place and was perfect for what we had in mind for the shoot."

I am a nail art FIEND so I was thrilled when this gorgeous autumnal styled shoot was sent over to me by photographer Becky Mitchell. Alongside nail artist Nancy loves Nails, who wanted to showcase some newest Autumn/winter inspired nail designs, the idea was to share some unique Fall wedding styling ideas. The shoot was set up in an abandoned building which really helped to set the tone of the vignette as a whole.

"This project, the visual telling of love and passion, was inspired by late nights, acoustic guitars, and solo vocalists", writes wedding photographer Kelsea of Simplee Photography. "It is a collection inspired by all the things that I love, things that are beautifully interesting... details stripped down into elements." On the banks of a river, where twisty tree roots meets an Autumnal glow, Kelsea found her perfect location. Wanting to shoot something simple, natural and organic, she selected a vintage dress, feather earrings, masks from Russia and bits and pieces from here, there and everywhere.

Oh I love a surprise wedding! And a surprise wedding + pool party!? EPIC! But this wasn't actually a real wedding (sad face) although it was set up as a recreation of the actual wedding of some friends of the photographer who were married 30 years ago. Jessie & Kenny had this actual wedding, in this exact same spot in 1982 (some of their wedding photos are at the end of the gallery - how amazing are they?!) So to celebrate, and to have an their anniversary party with a difference, they decided to relive the whole thing. This is a styled shoot with a difference and, yes, they really had the big party afterwards!

Where do you find your inspiration? For photographer Jennifer, the idea for this shoot came to her in a dream. "I was travelling to New Orleans for a little vacation and on the way I dreamt about this shoot", she explained. "Alongside local florist, Kim Starr Wise, we came up with this concept - Voodoo Swamp. We wanted something moody and bring in the elements of the swamp. The floral was hand picked with orchids, magnolias, fiddle head ferns, and crocodile leaves and I really wanted Spanish moss."

When Lisa & I sit down to plan the Photography Farm styled shoots our criteria is simple - will it be fun and will it fulfill a current obsession? Well I can safely say we hit both those things with this one! Ice Cream Dream was born from our unwavering obsession with rainbow colour palettes and the fact that Hannah, our props stylist, has her own vintage ice cream cart (that she hires out at weddings - don't you just I love this idea!?) Plus the gorgeous Elbie, who we'd roped into modelling for us, is as cute as an actual button and has the most rampant sweet tooth, like, ever. Our plan was for her to look like a sugary sweet treat herself and I think we managed to achieve that pretty well actually! I also can't get over how good she looks with lilac hair. Jealous much?!

Angry Birds. It might not strike you as an obvious wedding theme but this shoot goes to prove that inspiration can be found everywhere! "We've been working on this idea since last Fall", wrote photographer Brent of Live View Studios. " Our idea was for a wedding shoot inspired by the popular Angry Birds game, but to be done in a very classy, non-cartoony way. We wanted to bring our brand of very rustic, organic and indie vibes into it." "To our surprise, and considering how popular the game is, we hadn't seen anyone else doing this idea" he continued. "So basically we wanted to be first! When the idea came to us initially, we looked around and found a few groom's cakes & details based on the game but nothing that incorporated it in as an overall wedding theme or shoot. We decided to use elements creatively instead of basing it only on the characters. Keeping the elements of stone & brick, glass, wood & feathers, and the primary color palette in mind, we set out to design a rustic couture wedding with slingshot pens, tumbled concrete structures, a gold crown & golden eggs and a treasure chest for notes written by guests."

It doesn't happen very often, but when it does I feel like I've won the wedding-blogging-lottery. And don't even get me started on what happens when I discover a videographer with as much talent as this. Actual tears people, there were actual tears.

"Ever since I spent time travelling from Nashville to San Francisco last Autumn, I've benn obsessed with wanting to recreate vintage Americana!" wrote stylist Lynsey Le Keux. "This summer I had the pleasure of making it happen. I got together with some serious wedding industry talent including Sassy of Assassynation and Jo of The Couture Company. Our theme was 'trailer trash chic' which basically meant coney neck beers, dust-caked American cars, sweat smudged make up and broad blue skies. The aim was to portray unique bridal beauty against a backdrop of pure gritty trash... We wanted to inspire bridal styling outside of tradition and show our customers that they don't have to follow convention to rock a wedding - bridal beauty is subjective and one thing all the collaborators agreed on was how much we loved customers who did things their way."

I'm obsessed with this shoot, set up by Becky Hoh-Hale to promote her new breed of vintage wedding fair, A Most Curious Party. If you've been reading Rock n Roll Bride for a while you might recognise that name - I've been lucky enough to feature two of their shoots to promote previous events (as well as Rebecca's own gorgeous wedding). Alongside the amazing Joanna Millington Photography and some of the other suppliers exhibiting at the shows, Becky wanted to showcase a unique twist on the vintage wedding trend - it's not all tea length 50s dresses and mismatched crockery here! "We had big plans for this shoot", explained Becky. "Originally we wanted to shoot in the Norfolk Woods, where much of the flat landscape looks like the set of Spike Jones’s 'Where the Wild Things Are' but on the day we were strewn with drizzle, which eventually turned into full blown rain, which eventually turned into hail. So onto plan B!"

They created the bouquet but allowed photographer Britney of Tucker Images to let her imagination run wild with the styling and location of the shoot.

When artist Paula Shepherd, owner of The Fancy Dress Lodge (!!) in Winslow, decided to open her home as a wedding venue, she knew that a photo shoot to celebrate was in order. With the help of accessories designer Aria Sandis from A Little Bit Of Sparkle, she got to planning a shoot quirky enough to suit the eclectic space. "How about a Mad Hatter's Tea Party with a slightly insane twist?" they thought.
