Equestrian Wedding Shoot in Italy

December 15, 2012

Horses and weddings. Not an obvious combination of inspiration for a shoot (unless you’re thinking horse-drawn carriage) but needless to say it works really well. The Autumnal colours, the soft tones and the moody setting make this shoot beautiful and really different.

“Everything took place at the old Ippodrome of San Marone located in Civitanova Marche, Italy”, wrote wedding photographer Paolo Manzi. “It’s an amazing racecourse in the middle of the countryside. There are only a few race every year, but it’s still a lovely place and was perfect for what we had in mind for the shoot.”

“We wanted to create a vintage dreamy and natural inspired shoot, surrounded by the utterly magical atmosphere of the horse stable”, she continued. “Davide, our florist, used a lot of lace and wool details together with different kind of flower bulbs. For the bouquet he used Magnolia leaves. For the stationery Ara of Caratterino printed the invitations on real wood with rope details.”

“Unfortunately it rained on our shoot day and so we were unable to do much outside like we’d planned, but the cold and rainy weather did allow us to get creative inside the stable. I think everything turned out to be even more romantic and intimate because of this!”

What do we think? I love the use of fairy lights on the table and the animal print cake. It’s quirky and slightly funny but also kinda elegant!

So horses and weddings – yes or no? And how about a stable for an engagement or post wedding shoot? If you’re a horse-lover it might just be perfect.

Thank you to Paolo and the whole team for sharing with us today!
