Inspiration can hit you anywhere, and for wedding photographer Lindsay Hite of
Readyluck, it came while flicking through a fashion magazine. “The trend neutral colors paired with neon in fashion really spoke to me”, she told me. “I love the almost surprising contrast between subtlety and outspokenness and was curious about how it would work in a bridal setting. I drew inspiration from far flung corners – from Lana del Rey’s flower crowns, to bright bold colors of childhood celebrations and vintage circuses.”
And the bridesmaid with the giraffe is just too good not to give a special mention to. How awesome is that?!
Be sure to check out he behind the scenes videos too. Its all kinds of fabulous.
This shoot features some of my very favourite things. Cute little hats, glitter curtains, flower crowns and neon! I’m a huge fan of colour (shock, horror) so it was a no-brainer that I had to feature this Thank you to Lindsay and her team for sharing it with us today.

Flower Beard Bridals with Harnaam Kaur
June 30, 2015
Harnaam Kaur has polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which meant she started growing a beard from aged 11. Battling to remove her hair every day, and bullied at school, she started to self harm and considered suicide. Harnaam is now a body-confidence and anti-bullying activist and she fully embraces her unique look and hopes to encourage others to do the same. So when this bridal shoot using Harnaam as the model was submitted to me I nearly jumped out of my skin with excitement!
Colourful, Folky Wedding Shoot with Affordable, DIY Ideas
November 8, 2014
When it comes to me accepting submissions to feature on this blog, I always ask myself the same two simple questions: Will my readers like this? And are there ideas in here that people can actually apply to their own weddings? More and more these days, I'm only able to answer yes to both these questions with the real weddings I'm sent. However sometimes, just sometimes, a styled wedding shoot fits the bill as well.
Indoor Forest Wedding Shoot
March 2, 2013
Wanting to do something different to the vintage-loving crowd, wedding photographer June Cochran opted to have her latest project shot inside, at night and with a warm cosy vibe. This idea but juxtaposed nicely with bright pops of colour and daring and edgy flower arrangements. "Pretty much every single stylized wedding shoot I've seen is at magic hour, outdoors in a field, and as vintage and pastel as it gets", she writes. "That's beautiful, but I wanted to shake it up and push it out it the box."
Winter Forest Bridal Shoot

Are you planning to have a bridal shoot? It's actually something I'm seeing less and less of these days, but if you're so inclined, I think they're so much fun! Hell, I loved doing them so much that I started a blog so I had somewhere to publish them!
Neon Tropics Wedding Inspiration
June 12, 2014
If there's one thing I love it's COLOUR - and lots of it - so when photographer Rebecca Douglas sent over this wedding inspiration shoot, I couldn't really turn down the opportunity to feature it. Styled by Jenny Sinclair of Bellaboo and Beau, this shoot was inspired by a neon colour palette and the tropics.p
The National Vintage Wedding Fair Celebrates the 1980s
Sally Forder for Binky Nixon
August 1, 2015
The eighties gets a bad rep: The big shoulder pads, the garish make up, the even bigger hair... But that didn't stop the National Vintage Wedding Fair embracing it! To celebrate their upcoming wedding shows, they wanted to play homage to the decade of excess and create these promotional images in all their over-the-top glory!

Using a real couple in a styled shoot is always going to raise the game. As well as getting to see the artistic licence and creative freedom of the wedding suppliers involved, you also witness the mad love and the chemistry of the couple hitting you square in the eyes. It's a heady combination, as this shoot proves.
