2018 has been a year of tremendous ups and downs. On the one hand SO many incredible things have happened: - I wrote a book! - Each issue of the magazine outsold the one before it! - I hired more people for our team! - We got so many boring yet important behind-the-scenes business things sorted that I'm finally starting to feel like I have some semblance of my shit together (it only took a decade right!?)Read more...

If you weren't expecting to see a wedding today where the bride looks like a straight-up SUPERMODEL then, dear reader, you were very wrong. There is something so magically simple yet bad-freakin'-ass about this wedding. Chloe and CJ didn't go overboard on the extras or the details, the little touches were minimal but the perfect amount of edgy and personalised. I mean they created custom enamel pins for their wedding favours for goodness sake. ALL the wedding goals coming at ya...Read more...

There was a timeless and classical element to the styling of Jade and Ben's big day. They wanted their summer wedding to feel elegant with with an eclectic edge. The celebration absolutely still felt authentic to them and keeping the colour palette and theme quiet neutral meant they could focus on the things that they felt were most important (the ceremony and the food!)Read more...

Festival weddings aren't going anywhere and I for one couldn't be happier about it! I mean what's not to love about all this colour, creativity and fun!? Rock n Roll Bride was built on sharing alternative, inspirational yet attainable real weddings. When I started blogging in 2007 there was no other platform showcasing weddings that sauntered off the beaten path. However through many long hours of trawling wedding forums, Flickr groups and good old fashion Google, I was able to uncover many, MANY incredibly creative, super unique real weddings that weren't being shared anywhere else - I assume because they didn't fit the picture perfect, traditional wedding mould that was so popular a decade ago.Read more...

Charlie and Mark had a pretty unconventional, NSFW engagement shoot (which is actually one of my favourites we've ever published!) so, unsurprisingly, their September wedding shunned tradition too. They decided that they wanted a bohemian inspired by with elements of Peaky Blinders and Wes Anderson. They did lots of DIY projects to make their day feel really special and personal. In particular they arranged all the flowers and created all the paper goods (invites, table plan, order of the day etc).Read more...

Em and Tam were married in August at Court Farm in Standerwick, a lovingly restored 16th Century farmhouse set in ten acres of gardens and grounds in the heart of the English countryside. It was the perfect backdrop for their laid back day. They wanted their wedding to feel vibrant yet folky and they were inspired by vintage Americana, retro elements and Mexico.Read more...

We're sent hundreds real weddings every month to consider for publication so I'm sure you can imagine it's quite hard to narrow them down sometimes... However there was no question in our minds when we clapped eyes on Alexa and Andries' two day celebration in South Africa. They decided to split the wedding in two, with an intimate church ceremony for just close family and a big reception for everybody else three days later.Read more...

What's the most romantic story of all time? Clearly, it's Romeo + Juliet... And the best adaption of that story is arguably the Baz Lurhman film staring Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio. So, what could be a better theme for a wedding than THAT? And, oh boy, did Jane and Brendan go all out for their incredible day, Any bride in wings is a-OK in my book!Read more...

Katherine and Jason's wedding was like something out of a movie, and was a real community effort. They rented a cabin for all their guests to stay in the week before. The day itself started with a first look, right by the water, followed by an intimate and nature-inspired ceremony. They served burritos and dessert bought from Costo and the day ended with them skinny dipping!Read more...

Karen and Dean were married in the ruins of Ettington Park's chapel in October. Their day had a gothic theme which was reflected in the bride's choice of black wedding dress (made by The Couture Company), their Black Cherry Cake Company cake and all the decorations. They used skeletons, trailing ivy, dramatic candelabras with black candles and purple and black flowers.Read more...

So this might not be a real wedding, in fact it was a photo shoot done in about 20 minutes before they lost the light, but I think you'll agree it's gorgeous enough to warrant a feature. In fact I may love these shots more than some of my own wedding photos - ha! Prepare to be INSPIRED.Read more...

Rosie and Alex's beautiful early summer wedding was held at Hothorpe Hall in Leicestershire. The fantastic thing about their venue was that they were able to be married outside in the woodlands, like they always wanted. This helped to set the theme of their day.Read more...
