With the overall message of issue 67 being ' freedom', the desert felt like a natural starting point for the main editorial shoot. Our models were Sydney and Steven, a real couple who eloped in Vegas a few years ago and whose wedding we previously featured. Their familiarity with each other brought an ease and authenticity to the shoot that simply couldn’t have been manufactured. In fact, many of the accessories they wore were their own!

Rock n Roll Bride Magazine Issue 68: Start With What Actually Matters

Kat

April 30, 2026

There’s nothing like a wedding to bring your core values sharply into focus. You start by thinking about dresses and flowers and end up asking yourself much deeper questions: Why does my father ‘giving me away’ not sit right with me? How do we know if our suppliers are actually supportive of our queer relationship? Does it make me a ‘bridezilla’ to be specific about what we want our day to look like? It can hit you like an unexpected steam train and can be a lot harder to navigate than finding the perfect outfit. But it’s also where Rock n Roll Bride magazine is really here to help! We will show you all the awesome alt dress ideas and unique florals while also hitting you with the answers to all your big, existential questions.

Chloe and Aaron’s colourful festival wedding in Hull was all about their personalities, their love of colour and not taking themselves too seriously. The couple, who have been together since they were 17, and their three children threw a celebration was full of laughter, games and in-jokes. And despite it raining all morning (even during their outdoor ceremony!) their spirits were not dampened one little bit.

An and Mario were married exactly twenty years to the date after they first met, on February 29th. As well as only having one date every four years they could make this happen, they had to plan around other real circumstances. Instead, they split the celebration in two days - the civil ceremony took place on the Thursday and the party on the Friday night.

AM Love Stories

April 16, 2026

AJ and Pedro got married by the sea in La Manga del Mar Menor, a narrow sandbar in Murcia, Spain, which separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Mar Menor lagoon. They are both archaeologists, and their work and love of books became the starting point for the theme. Pedro is an author, and AJ also translated that idea into the visual side of the wedding. She designed everything herself, from stationery to signage to décor, keeping it consistent across the whole day.

We are the Richards

April 14, 2026

Ari and Bry designed their wedding with their people at the centre and everything else arranged around that. They chose the Allegheny Elks Lodge #339, a working-class Pittsburgh hall, as their location then added all their own décor to make it on-theme. “The theme was classic Pittsburgh hall wedding collides with Vegas kitsch and a hint of the Deer Hunter!” Ari told us. The result was a day that felt retro, in 80s Vegas chapel type way, meets a community party where everyone pitched in.

Cassy Smith

April 10, 2026

A traditional, all-white wedding was never on the cards for Stephanie and Ernesto. The couple based the day around Warped Tour, as well as all the other concerts they've been to over the years. The bride initially didn't want to wear a white dress, but when she found one which was white, but with black lace accents, it just felt right. "We are elder emos and knew from the beginning that we wanted a rock festival theme,” she said.

Sam and Kaylee wanted to honour both their backgrounds with a pre-wedding photo session. As a nod to Sam's Hong Kong heritage (in a distinctly Asian-American way), the two chose to run around San Francisco Chinatown at night. They visited several beloved locally-owned Chinese-American businesses and Chinatown landmarks. Kaylee brought her own piece of family history to the session, wearing her grandmother's wedding dress and her mother's veil as a tribute to the women who came before her.
