Colourful & Creative Poolside Wedding in Palm Springs

Palm Springs, a desert city in southern California, is known for its hot springs, stylish hotels and gorgeous mid century modern architecture. For Bernadette and Andrew it also provided the perfect backdrop for their poolside ceremony meets intimate dinner party wedding.

“The great part about having your wedding in the wonderland that is Palm Springs is that the theme basically sets itself!”, began the bride. “We love the mid-century desert oasis aesthetic of the city and tried to leverage as much of that as we could. But really, because our wedding was intentionally kept very small (30 total people, including us), overall the theme was ‘intimate dinner party’. Since our wedding was Halloween weekend (we first kissed on Halloween, and Andrew proposed on Halloween!), our ‘rehearsal dinner’ was actually a giant Halloween costume party – I wore a giant inflatable banana costume and Andrew wore a wedding dress from Amazon – that he later jumped in the pool while wearing!”

Romantic & Intimate Elopement on a Sierra Nevada Mountaintop

This wedding is exactly what you’d expect if two beautiful ski and snowboarding instructors met on the top of a mountain and fell in love. And that’s what happened! Germán and Vero met in a cable car on a trip up to the top of the mountain, and so years later, they decided to say their I dos at the very same spot. SWOON.

“After a while and many adventures together, distilling love and happiness without parallel, Vero declared her love to to me”, Germán told us. “And we promised that our wedding would be such a wonderful adventure, and we would unite together, and surrounded by the most important guest in our day… Sierra Nevada, at 3000 metres high, where it all began.”

Road Trip Meets Intimate Arizona Ghost Town Wedding

I don’t know about you, but for me one of the greatest things about stalking people on the internet is when they get married and I can all fall in love with them a little bit more! I’ve been virtually following Kaylah, aka The Dainty Squid, online for years (we share an obvious mutual affinity with colourful hair!) so when I saw her June wedding to long-term partner Jeff I was thrilled. I poured over their beautiful images for what felt like hours, soaking up every last beautiful drop. So, when their photographer Madeline Barr submitted them for us to publish I obviously had to say yes, and did so in about 5 seconds flat.

They were married in an actual ghost town, Two Guns, in Arizona with just a few select family members and friends as witnesses. “Our wedding was inspired by our love of travel”, Kaylah told us. “Jeff and I have been taking trips to the desert since the year we met. It’s become a huge piece of our relationship and we both kind of credit that first trip together for making us work. We learned so much about each other and really fell in love then. Our road trips bring us so much joy and are such a huge highlight to us that we could not think of anything more ~us~ than to get married in the desert.”

Nature Inspired Meadow Wedding with Skinny-Dipping!

Katherine and Jason’s wedding was like something out of a movie, and was a real community effort. They rented a cabin for all their guests to stay in the week before. The day itself started with a first look, right by the water, followed by an intimate and nature-inspired ceremony. They served burritos and dessert bought from Costo and the day ended with them skinny dipping!

Most of all the wanted their day to feel personal to them. The field they were married in was buzzing with bees. They kept the decorations simple, instead focusing on the people they love that were there with them.

Laidback Bright Barn Styled Shoot with a Stunning Colourful Dress

Oh HEY beautiful colour, beautiful dress and beautiful people – what a treat this shoot is! Coordinated by Beth A Weddings and shot by Angela Ward Brown, this bright, relaxed elopement shoot was inspired by Hope Macaulay‘s incredibly colourful ‘Roman Goddess’ dress, and had a focus on young and up and coming talent. We dig.

“The ‘Roman Goddess’ dress by young designer Hope Macaulay is everything we hope that wedding dresses of the future will be,” Beth explains. “It’s full of colour, incredible design, beautiful embroidery and personal romantic touches – such as some of the most stunning landmarks Italy has to offer.”

It was styled with an oversized colour pop floral headdress by Rabbit and the Rose. They then built upon this bold and bright theme to make an intimate, stylish elopement with a super cool and super colourful vibe.

Laid back Bohemian Wedding in an Amazing Kansas City Restaurant

Ivy and Nate wanted their wedding day to be a party focused on good music, good food and even better drinks; a brief they absolutely SMASHED. Their wedding was held at the beautiful and ornate The American in Kansas City and it just keeps getting cooler from there.

They had decided not to have a ceremony on that day, opting instead of a private one at their house on a later date. This meant that Ivy and Nate got ready together with family and friends, “It was really nice because we experienced every part of the day together,” Ivy explains. “I know everyone says this but the day goes by so fast, so spend as much time together as you can.”

Ivy and Nate look like total bad asses in their wedding outfits, with Ivy wearing a Giambattista Valli dress she bought from Net-A-Porter. “I was out of town a lot in the build up to the wedding and just never made the time to go and try on dresses with family and friends. In the end, I did a lot of looking on wedding blogs to find my dress – I bought four, and ended up keeping this one.”

Nate wore a custom made suit from Manuel Couture, from Nashville. “Manuel has made suits for countless celebrities, and I think Nate was most excited about owning a Manuel suit!”
