Intimate

Wai-Ching Bride

Kat

September 10, 2009

Evan & Angela's wedding was at the Inn at Laurel Point in Victoria, BC. They had an intimate event with just 20 or 30 guests within their own bridal penthouse suite with an antique/bird theme. They set up a typewriter to be used a vintage style guest book, birdcages around the room and old-time candy for goodie-bag favours. They are both photographers as well so there were antique cameras scattered about as well as lots of shots taken with Evan's old Polaroid Land Camera. Angela's veil was handmade by an artist in Portland, OR and her dress was designed by local Seattle designer Chrissy Wai-Ching. It's a pretty damn amazing dress huh?

Tequila In Hawaii

Kat

September 4, 2009

Husband and wife team James & Bev just sent me these stunning Kikaua Point Beach wedding from May this year. I actually spotted some of these images on one of my many hunts for damn cool weddings and in fact begged them to send me the images of Amanda & Rob's big day. Me? play it cool?...certainly not! The couple had a Don Julio Tequila toast right after they said 'I do' (now I don't really know what this is, but I can only imagine it involved Tequila shots after the vows!) and Amanda wore are beautiful traditional Hawaiian dress called a mu'umu'u as her wedding gown and quite frankly looked stunning. A huge thanks to Bev & James for sending me these and letting me share this stunning wedding with you all! Credit: James Rubio Photography

A Day In The Life

Kat

August 20, 2009

As soon as these images landed in my inbox early this morning I was desperate to blog them right away! First off the couple are ridiculously beautiful (but that, of course, goes without saying), secondly I have never seen such a gorgeous set of images where it is just the two of them, no barriers, no props, just the newlyweds being themselves. In fact I'm not even sure I've ever seen an 'in bed' style shoot used as part of a day after session. I love it. The photographs are so intimate and so personal yet done in such as way that there is no element of sleaze...I don't even feel voyeuristic looking at them They really are just art. Art and love. We then move onto the bulk of the shoot, where living in Odessa, Texas (a place where there is apparently 'nothing ') doesn't seem to have made these images anything less than breathtaking. The train, the graffiti, the river, the tree. The gorgeously intimate style continues only this time with a back drop that tantalises the senses all by itself. If this isn't enough for you, then be sure to check out the couple's wedding too! A huge thank you to Chelsea for sending me these exclusive shots (oh yes, exclusives make me happy!)
