Josh and Shandre weren’t afraid of being a little kitsch and over-the-top with their wedding theme. They wanted to tie together a movie theme, with Halloween, while keeping a very home-y atmosphere. They asked their family and friends to dress up as their favourite movie or Halloween character so it felt less like a traditional wedding and more like a house party celebration, which is exactly what they achieved!

Lauren and Carl didn’t have a set theme for their June 2019 wedding; it was simply a big mix of stuff they liked and a case of putting it together to make it work! “I spent every lunch break on Pinterest and Instagram creating mood boards,” said Lauren. “I was inspired by a few things; notably the large, colourful flowers, lighting and animals from Shakespeare’s Midsummer Nights Dream, the aesthetic of Sophia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette with the antique gold frames, mixed pastels and lavish regal vibes.”

John and Chris toyed with returning to Vegas to get married after getting engaged there in September 2015, but with young family it wouldn't have been practical, so they set about finding the perfect venue for them to be able to give their big day the feel of the glitz and glam of Vegas! The inspiration for Meg and Chad’s San Francisco elopement is unlucky for some - the number 13! “It’s both our favourite numbers,” said Meg, “and we originally had a wedding planned for January 13th, 2019 and were going to San Francisco for the holidays. The inspiration behind Lee-Anne and Keegan’s November wedding was a bit of an inside joke - they’d been to Vegas together the previous year and joked around about how fun it would to get married there. They got engaged at the top of a mountain in their homeland of Canada, and while climbing down Lee-Anne said, “So, are we still getting married in Vegas then?” and that was that!

Ali and Robin built their entire June wedding day around their loves and interests, and more than anything - they wanted to bring people together to have fun. They day was heavily influenced by film and music with popcorn on seats for guests and a playlist of their favourite film scores before the ceremony. Their tables were named after locations in their favourite films, which they then included in a question in the pub quiz they hosted before dinner.
