Sorcha and John met when the bride was doing doing drinks promotions at a rock and metal bar in Dublin. "I noticed this 6 ft 7 gothic man with long black hair", she said. "He was hard to miss! He approached me and then drank a bunch of the test tube shots that I had, which had lots of caffeine in them. I found out afterwards that he’s allergic to caffeine and was violently ill afterwards! A few months later, our paths crossed again in the same bar. We got a chance to talk properly and realised we had everything in common. He asked me out to dinner and our gothic romance took flight."Read more...

Around five years ago, after way too much abuse from DIY bleaching, my hair was in a bad place. It was dry and brittle and wouldn’t grow past my shoulders before breaking off. Naturally, my hairdresser wasn’t impressed and helped me to see the damage I was doing to it through over-bleaching. If you’re partial to a splash of unnatural colour in your hair the chances are you can totally relate to this problem.Read more...

Nina and Zakk were legally married in Sweden, where the bride is from and the groom works as a tattoo artist, but also wanted to have a celebration in the UK, where the groom grew up. Despite living in Sweden for the last few years Zakk has a lot of family and friends in the UK so having a second celebration on Zakk's parents' property made a lot of sense. The location was a sprawling, beautifully maintained stretch of land that boasts a duck pond, tree house and playground - perfect!Read more...

By now you've probably already heard of, or even considered, having your eyebrows microbladed. A few of my friends have had it done and always raved about it, but I'd honestly never really considered it for myself. I've always been pretty proud of my brows. Thankfully, I managed to swerve the over-plucked trend of the late 90s (due mostly to laziness than anything else!) so I didn't think I really need it done. However when I was invited by Sian Dellar to try it out, I thought it would be a really interesting experiment.Read more...

Sarah and Benjamin's Austrian wedding was inspired by the 19th century science fiction theme of steampunk! The day was held at Schloß Weinberg (Weinberg Castle) in Kefermarkt. The ceremony took place outside, in the castle's grounds.Read more...

Halloween is just around the corner so I couldn't resist sharing this seriously spooky, actually quite scary, Halloween inspired skeleton shoot. It's not massively bridal but I think that's why I love it! Halloween weddings aren't about conforming to tradition are they!?Read more...

This issue we have the gorgeous Sharon as our cover babe. I'm not going to lie, as soon as her photographer Sophie Baker submitted the wedding I was secretly hoping there would be a shot in there that would work for the cover. I mean, what other wedding magazine on the planet would have a bride rocking pink space buns on the front!? She could not be a more perfect representation of a Rock n Roll bride and I can't wait to see her beautiful, smiling face on newsstands up and down to country!Read more...

You only need to do a quick Google search to realise that personalised gifts are 'the thing' right now, and with good reason. When it comes finding those one-of-a-kind items for your loved ones, there really is nothing more special than creating something that shows that you've thought about them specifically and picked something that they'll really love. But it can be difficult to get it just right. Here's my top tips for creating a memorable and special personalised gift.Read more...

Emma and James love alternative culture (as you can see by all their tattoos!) but for their summer wedding they still wanted the theme to be feminine and timeless. They were married in Manchester at The Castlefield Rooms.Read more...

There are some people that ooze cool by simply existing and I think Nancy and Boogie fall firmly into that camp! Even their names sound awesome together. They wanted their engagement shoot to be more of a fashion editorial rather than traditionally romantic.Read more...

Is there any wedding more Rock n Roll Bride than a Vegas elopement and a silver sequin dress? Getting married in December with a £6000 budget, Nic and Loz decided Sin City was the perfect spot for them. The ceremony was held at The Little White Wedding Chapel and afterwards they wandered around Fremont Street, Seven Magic Mountains, the Vegas Sign and Caesars Palace for photos. They ended the night with a 30 inch pizza from Pin Up Pizza which they ate back in their hotel room.Read more...

Halloween is just a few weeks away so what could be a more perfect shoot to share today than this one? Inspired by Memphis (where the session took place), Halloween and autumn, the nods to the season are subtle, but effective. I'm not a massive fan of really over the top, themed Halloween shoots so this one is right up my street. In fact if I was having a Halloween wedding this is exactly how I'd style it!Read more...
