Britt runs the awesome blog Bowie Bride where she's been sharing with us their "oh so pec-u-liar" journey to the alter in her own, totally kick ass, anti-wedding industry and super colourful, DIY-mad way.Read more...

Emma & Matt had an incredible fancy dress wedding at home. The bride & groom live on a farm, so they decided their own home would be the perfect venue. The theme for the fancy dress was anything from 1920's - 1980's and they invited their guests to dress as their favourite decade from the last century. Even the music they selected fitted the theme, with the DJ's 'The Beautiful and the Damned' - who they saw playing at a festival - playing an eclectic mix of music from the 1920's to the 1980's throughout the evening.Read more...

Central Park played host to Angie and Jordy's wedding. Originally from Ottawa, Canada, the couple chose New York to get married in because it was the first place they travelled to together, "It just seemed like the ideal location for us" Angie told me. "We wanted to see more Broadway shows and catch a Yankee's game. No to mention many of our guests had never been and who doesn't want to visit New York?"Read more...

I first laid eyes on Laura & Paul's fabulous wedding when I saw a sneak peek on their photographer's blog. Over the next few weeks I pretty much pestered their photographer Eliza Claire until she agreed to let me feature it - this is my favourite of all Eliza Claire's weddings to date! Laura, a regular Rock n Roll Bride reader throughout their planning, was keen to add personal and alternative wedding touches throughout their day...and they certainly did that. It was also a lot down to Paul too, who really got stuck into the planning and the desire to create something unique.Read more...

Carmen & Gary had a laid back pool party wedding at Commons Ford Ranch, Austin. The couple actually had their first dance in the pool too! "The reception was supposed to be a dance party on the patio, with possible swimming as an afterthought, as there is a really nice pool at the ranch," the bride told me. "However as soon as dinner ended, guests were taking over the pool. We decided to move the DJ over to the pool deck since that was where the party was happening, and it became a full-blown pool party. We even had our first dance in the pool, after the official marital cannonball."Read more...

I've known (as in online-known) photographer Katie Malone for about 3 years. We got married about the same time and were both members of the same forum during our planning. I love when she emails me weddings she's now shooting. It's incredible how we're both still surrounded by this wedding-world after all this time...and doing it in a bad ass way of course! I've loved her photographs ever since she first started experimenting. She usesa variety of cameras to give her photographs a totally different look to anyone else's. Infrared, Vivitar ultra wide & slim, Holga & Polaroid are all used alongside her digital SLR to get her unusual and intoxicating techniques.Read more...

When photographer Marianne Taylor sends you a wedding, it's pretty much a given that it's going to be awesome. Not only does Marianne have a fantastic eye for detail and gets the coolest clients, but she always knows which weddings will suit the style of my blog. While Emily & Owen's wedding may seem more traditional than some of the weddings I feature, the thought and personalisation is what makes it totally Rock n Roll!Read more...

When I realised this month's issue of Photo Pro Magazine would be the twelfth featuring little old me I got all contemplative. Wow, I've been writing for this awesome photography magazine for over a year - not only where has the time gone, but seriously how much has changed in that time!? Lots I tell you! I wanted to make this article sort of a 'round up' style feature - i.e. what have I learnt over this past 12 months and how have I put it into practice. One of the things I've totally loved (and I think most of you have enjoyed seeing) are my photo shoots. I also wanted to give an almighty shout out to the girls involved in this epic shoot with the article too.Read more...

I featured Christy & Daryl's 'Modern Film Noir' engagement session at the beginning of June so it's an absolute pleasure to come full circle and feature their awesome wedding as well, which also had a bit of the 'noir' about it don't you think? The couple got married on Friday 13th and had a silhouetteand dark theme. "Daryl and I are both artists and musicians, and met through a mutual friend/bandmate" the bride told me. "From the get go, our relationship was anything but normal. Our first date was to a funeral and we officially became a couple on Halloween. It was only natural to celebrate our wedding on Friday the 13th. We stuck with the theme of silhouettes, and added black cats and crows to our forest ceremony decor. We wanted to give the evening a moody, magical atmosphere."Read more...

I have a bit of an unusual Sunday Kind of Love post for you today, because even though I'll put the odd sneak peek on Twitter and Facebook, I very rarely do so on the blog. However with wedding season still in full swing, the submissions are coming in thick and fast so it's taking me longer than usual to share them all with you.Read more...

I'm actually super excited about posting these - my first actual 'set' of photos that weren't just of me messing about at home on my own. Today I went into town with my sister Rachel (and yes I did name my cat after her!) It just so happens to be totally gorgeous so I forced her to play model all day. I think she gave me a run for my money actually!Read more...

Jenny Packham and 1920's styling was the order of the day for Emma & Adam's wedding at Chewton House just outside Bristol. In fact Emma's Jenny Packham 'Joy' dress provided the inspiration for the whole wedding! The wedding theme came about by chance as when Emma visited Wedding Days in Cheltenham bridal shop to look for a potential wedding dress. She hadn't had much luck in her search up til then but luckily for her, a promotions representative from Jenny Packham happened to be visiting the store that day and had a few "one off" dresses for Wedding Days to show case for one day only. The last dress she tried on was "Joy". It was exactly what she had been looking for. The bride then came up with the idea to theme the whole wedding about the 1920's/30's style of the dress.Read more...

When David & Ruth started to think about the kind of theme they'd like for their engagement session and up coming wedding they realised that they wanted to do something that celebrated their life together and their upcoming marriage. "We soon realised that like our life together and we pretty much wanted it all to reflect us - vintage, geekchic, retro, scifi, lowfi, folk, rock, disco, soul, town and country - with extra sprinkles please."Read more...

Kate & Charles had a vintage, punky and pink (caravan!) wedding on the Isle of Wight. As soon as I saw Kate in her incredible 1950's cotton lace Fur Coat No Knickers vintage gown I knew I wanted to feature them "They made the bow birdcage veil out of a back panel of the dress and sourced the most beautiful velvet ribbon sash to finish off the dress" the bride told me.Read more...

Do you remember Kaori & Alex's killer engagement session? It was all tattoos, awesome outfits and L.O.V.E. I have been dying to see the outcome of their wedding ever since and I ain't half excited to share it with you today. The couple were married at Old Zoo in Griffith Park, Los Angeles with a reception to follow at Señor Fish in Little Tokyo Area, Downtown LA. Both of them are designers so obviously their outfits were nothing short of unique and utterly fabulous.Read more...

It's official, photographer Matt Miller gets the coolest most Rock n Roll clients! Stephanie & Adam had a picnic at an abandoned prison for their engagement shoot shoot - not only a killer juxtaposition of themes, but maybe even a bit of a dig at the oh-so-often-seen 'vintage picnic' setting...it actually might not be but I kinda like the idea that it is!Read more...
