I don’t know if you’ve heard, but these little colourful balls of joy have been getting a slightly bad rep of late. Brides love them, bloggers love them, but some wedding suppliers are (so I’ve been told) a little ‘over’ them. We’ve all seen them styled in the same old same old way over and over so I can see their point. It can be slightly tiresome.
But Pom Pom Factory isn’t taking that lying down. Their new Hammerwood House editorial is anything but boring. It’s innovative, inspiring and seriously seriously beautiful.
There are Christmas gift guides a-plenty around the interwebz at this time of year. But that hasn’t stopped me getting in on the action! We’re planning on decorating our living room a tealy greeny colour (once we can finally agree on some wallpaper – seriously, this is testing our relationship!) so needless to say I’m having a moment with it all…
I don’t wish to alarm you, but Christmas is one month today!! Argh! And nope, I haven’t started my shopping yet either. So today, I thought I’d share with you some of the things on my Christmas list this year, as well as some other gift ideas that I’ve fallen in love with during my self-indulgent internet searches…
♥ Iron Fist have been a favourite of mine for a long time and my ‘want list’ just gets longer and longer every time I visit their site. The Starstruck blazer ($80) and Tigre & Bunny wedges ($60) are just a match made in tealy heaven. I also love this Kitty Kat coat ($160) probably more than I should. You can also get 20% off your entire order with the exclusive code ‘ROCK’ just for Rock n Roll Bride readers (valid until 31.12.2012). You’re welcome!
♥ The Neon Holidays collection from Tarina Tarantino is perfection. I’ve got my beady eyes on the neon pink choker ($80) & bracelet ($60) obviously.
♥ I’ve been having a sordid love affair with my Jimmy Choo ‘Tokyo’ gold glitter high tops ever since I treated myself earlier in the year, and now those crazy Choo kids have gone and brought out a whole new range! They’re not cheap, rocking up at £325 a pair, but if you’re anything like me you’ll totally over-wear them. Always think of the price per wear people!
♥ Christmas is the perfect time for experimenting with new make up looks – go big or go home I say! If the truth be told I’ve only recently discovered the wonders of Sugarpill and now I’m a fully fledged addict! Their pigments are super saturated and so amazingly easy to blend. They also start from a ridiculous reasonable $12 for the individual pots. I’m also so dying to get my grubby mitts on these rainbow false lashes ($6) when they get back in stock!
“Jeez, is she still banging on about The Blogcademy?” I hear you wail… Well yes actually because I. am. excited! It is by far one of the biggest and most rewarding projects I’ve been involved in and I just can’t stop smiling about the whole thing! And of course I don’t want you to miss it!
Tickets to our second (oh yes!) London date went on sale on Friday and are already selling quickly – we’re thrilled! But even more thrilling is hanging out in our secret graduate (and undergraduate) private forum – the excitement and anticipation in there in palpable. It’s so cute seeing all the newbies making friends with the New York gals, everyone asking and giving advice, people planning to meet up beforehand and others arranging to share hotel rooms. Now you know you wanna be a part of that!
Don’t feel like you soaked up enough Blogcademy goodness already!? Well fret not my dear… we have some behind the scenes video action for you right now. Big love to Ben Vogel for following us around all weekend and making us feel all famous and stuff…
The next date & location will be announced on this here blog at 12pm (GMT) on Wednesday 14th November (that’s this Wednesday folks). Tickets will be on sale at a special discounted early bird price for the first 48 hours only. Now don’t say we haven’t warned you… set those alarms!
It may not come as a huge shock to you but I love being in front of the camera, you could say I’m a bit of a poser. Well, I do have pink hair but, whatever the reason, I tend to get asked to model at workshops pretty regularly. Which is fine and dandy by me – I’m also an unapologetic workshop-whore. Double win!
So when my buddy Chris Barber announced his ‘Barbershop’ (see what he did there?!) over the summer he emailed me soon after to ask if I’d guest speak and model for the photo shoot portion of the day, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. For some reason he also wanted Gareth to come along too. God knows why… don’t you know it’s supposed to be all about me?! (in case my sarcasm isn’t translating this is of course a joke).
