Submissions

Please also take the time to read this post for more tips on how to get your submission really noticed!

If you are a couple, a photographer or a wedding vendor and you would like to be featured on Rock n Roll Bride, I would love to hear from you…don’t be shy!

Please Note: I receive a huge amount of submissions everyday so unfortunately I am unable to feature every single one. I will reply to every single submission I receive to let you know if you have been successful or not, so if you haven’t heard from me within a 48 hours your email may have got lost in cyberspace. Please feel free to chase me up!

Although I favour real weddings over engagement shoots and styled shoots, I do sometimes feature these too so send them over! I will also only feature content that I feel fits in with the style I am trying to promote.

Real Weddings

I accept real wedding submissions from anyone – brides, grooms, photographers, wedding planners – just send me a quick email with a few images and some basic information on the day.

If you’d like to submit your wedding for a possible post on Rock n Roll Bride, drop me and email to kat@rocknrollbride.com including the following:

♥ The names of the couple, the wedding date and the location
♥ A small selection of images (around 20 will suffice) so I can get an idea of the style of wedding and photography. Please favour portraits of the bride & groom and reception details as these give me the best idea if the wedding is suitable or not.

Please do not send large/high res images in your initial submission request.

A small selection of low res images (eg under 500 pixels, 72 dpi) is adequate for me to get the feel of your wedding and see if it’s suitable for publication. Large images embedded into emails make my computer (and me) cry so please try and avoid it!

♥ A mini description about your wedding/photo shoot i.e. your theme and what made the particular wedding Rock n Roll.  Please don’t feel like you have to write an essay at this point – just a few simple bullet points is enough for me to get an idea on whether I think the wedding is suitable for a feature. If your submission is accepted I will send you a short questionnaire which will cover everything I want to know.
♥ Whether your wedding has been submitted or featured on any other websites or blogs. This is really important. As a general rule I will not feature real weddings and photo shoots that have already been published on other wedding blogs.

Permission to be featured from the photographer and brides & groom is imperative. Please get permission from all parties before submitting a wedding or photo shoot.

Engagement Shoots/Styled Shoots

If you’d like to submit an engagement or styled shoot for a possible post on Rock n Roll Bride, drop me and email to kat@rocknrollbride.com including the following:

♥ The names of the couple, the location and the theme/inspiration behind the shoot
♥ A small selection of images (around 10 will suffice) so I can get an idea of the style of the photo shoot/photography. Please include any detail shots as well as portraits of the couple.
♥ Whether your photo session has been submitted or featured on any other websites or blogs. This is really important. As a general rule I will not feature real weddings and photo shoots that have already been published on other wedding blogs.

Permission to be featured from the photographer and brides & groom is imperative. Please get permission from all parties before submitting a wedding or photo shoot.

Under the Spotlight – Wedding Supplier Featured Posts

If you are a wedding supplier and you would like to be considered for a feature post, please drop me and email to kat@rocknrollbride.com

♥ Your name(s)/company name, your location and website address
♥ What you do (invitations/flowers/DJ etc)
♥ What makes you perfect for a Rock n Roll couple? What do you offer that is unique or different to the norm?

Please note: Vendor spotlight posts are sponsored/paid for. If I do not feel the product or service you offer is suitable for Rock n Roll Bride I reserve the right to say no to an ad or feature placement.

DIY Tutorials/Guest Posts

I’m currently taking submissions from guest writers who either want to submit a DIY Tutorial or an article that fits into my‘wedding’ or ‘business’ Post It Notes blog post remit. If you are interested in being considered then please drop me an email outlining your idea for the tutorial or article. I’ll accept posts from anyone – brides/grooms-to-be, newlyweds, wedding industy peeps, other bloggers (wedding or non-wedding).

Please note: Guest posts are not an opportunity for companies to write a post solely to promote themselves. So please only get in touch if you have an idea for an article that can genuinely help my readers (couples planning their weddings or people running their own small businesses). You will, of course, get credited (including links to your own website) in return.

And finally…

Any photographer or wedding vendor who I feature will be entitled to become a bona fide ‘Rockstar Vendor’! If you’d like your very own Rockstar Vendor badge to proudly display on your blog or website with a link back to Rock n Roll Bride and/or your post, please just drop me and email and I’ll shoot one right over.

Finally great ideas that will work for an unique and memorable wedding. Thanks!

Love the photo at the bottom- your hair is pinker than ever!! Think that might be one of my fave photos of you. When I EVENTUALLY get round to renewing my vows with hubby, I’ll definitely be submitting it in the hope it’ll be featured… it’ll probably be almost solely supplied by your rockstar vendors lol

Love the vibrancy and personality you bring to your blog – and your disregard for convention. Weddings are supposed to be about celebrating and having a good time but all too often they become bogged down in ceremony and social eitiquette. Keep up the good work Kat.

What a fabulous blog! My (newly engaged) friend recommended I try to get some of my work accepted to your site, and I can see why, although I don’t think I’ve really got enough to send you at the moment. I’ll be submitting things to you when I do though!

Terrific blog! It is so refreshing to see brides making their day their own and not as a cookie cutter wedding.

    Hi Kat!
I just wanted to say thank you for the inspiration! Not only for wedding ideas but also the drive to stay true to one’s self. I’ve drooled over your site off and on for years! As a photographer I always swore never to become a wedding photographer, because like you I couldn’t think to conform to the traditional brides aesthetic. Thanks to blogs like yours I have a new and refreshed outlook, and I’m now in the process of planning how to re-brand my blog and start my own business. Hope that one day I’ll have work worthy of submission! <3

Wow! What a blog. As I read your blog name, I was able to think that brides and brides-to-be should feel confident and happy of who they are. They should rock others with their unique personality. Kudos! =)
