Intimate & Colourful Urban Farm Wedding

Sam and Jeremy’s colourful wedding took place on November 2, 2019 in New Orleans, Louisiana. They chose Paradigm Gardens, a cute little urban farm next to the interstate, as the venue. Sam wore a Chotronette dress while Jeremy was in a custom suit by Harper & Jones and in lieu of a large bridal party they each chose one ‘best person’.

All of their wedding suppliers were friends beforehand including their photographer, ceremony officiant and entertainment. And after their short ceremony, they celebrated with a small group of friends and family where they ate, drank and danced the night away to their favourite tunes from the 60s and 70s.

Get Ready Austin, The Blogcademy is Coming!

austin blogcademy

Today I’m off to Austin for the final US Blogcademy of 2013 – can you believe that? We’ve done a bunch of American dates this year which has been such an adventure, but I am really looking forward to hitting London after this – it’ll be nice not to have to get on a plane for once!

It’s my first time in Austin, although I have been to Texas before… well I had a layover in Fort Worth Airport once, nah it’s not really the same is it? The one thing I remember about it though was the HEAT. Waaah, Texas in August – are we mental?! I bloomin’ hope everywhere has air¬†con. I’ve packed lashings of factor 50, my giant Kate Spade floppy hat¬†and the lightest, airiest clothes I can get away with.

Dropping Hints

I’ve been dropping clues all week but Friday’s Instagram video might be the biggest one yet (I told you I was rubbish at keeping secrets). Be here tomorrow morning at 8am sharp (GMT) to find out for sure what I’ve been plotting. Although if you haven’t guessed it by now I don’t know how much more obvious I can be!

Dames in Disneyland

disneyland (41)

It seems like a lifetime ago, but just as I’m ramping up to¬†head off to America again this week, Made You Look Studios¬†sent over the photos from our Disneyland adventure in April. I’d never been before and on hearing this revelation Gala encouraged… nay insisted that they take me there for my birthday. Well who am I to turn down an invitation like that?!

Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Superbloggers Masterclass

Cosmo Careers Blogging Masterclass 004

On a soggy Spring evening Lisa and I headed to London. It was Tuesday, and the night of the Cosmopolitan Magazine Superbloggers Masterclass. I was thrilled, honoured and damn right nervous as hell to have been asked to join an illustrious panel of experts at this prestigious event. The masterclass was a complete sell-out, with two hundred enthusiastic wannabe bloggers braving wind and rain to make it to The British Museum for the two-hour panel discussion and Q&A.

This is my nervous and ‘omg that’s a big¬†auditorium’ face

I was cacking it. There was nothing cool about me as we took a peek into the empty¬†auditorium¬†and I¬†squeaked¬†to Lisa “Oh my god, that’s a lot of goodie bags…” We were the first to arrive and were ushered into a side room where we were soon met by the¬†Cosmopolitan¬†team and the rest of the panel.

Phew, What a Trip!

Paris-sneak

Photography Credit: Devlin Photos

Bonjour mes petits amis!

Well I’m finally back at my desk after two weeks of non-stop craziness with The Blogcademy gang. And although I’m missing my girls like crazy, I have to say it’s pretty damn good to be home. My head is spinning with everything that’s happened over the past fortnight. In fact it’s whirring so much that I’m struggling to even form¬†sentences…

From epic London adventures to two sold out Blogcademys and a talk at Farm Week…. From¬†a¬†whirlwind¬†Parisian jaunt to shooting with the¬†incredible¬†Brooke Davis, the adorable Juliane Berry, the¬†supreme¬†Lisa Devlin¬†and the vivacious and infectiously upbeat Shell De Mar (sheesh what a bunch of posers!) I am SPENT.¬†Completely¬†and utterly beat.

At 35,000 Feet

Credit: Moey Hoque

I’m currently 35,000 feet in the air making my way across the Atlantic Ocean to New York City. I may already be a broken record about the fact that I’m going back but I don’t care, I’m so excited I could burst!

I’ll report back with many many photos of my excited face as well as, of course, a full and epic report of The Blogcademy. If you just can’t wait then be sure to follow me on¬†Instagram¬†for instant and¬†regular¬†updates. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S FINALLY HERE!

Tattoo Themed Cupcake Decorating with Restoration Cake

Warning. You might not want to read this post if you’re hungry… or on a diet. This is a¬†unapologetic¬†diet-sabotaging article!

On Monday Gareth & I were invited by Charlotte of Restoration Cake to attend her cupcake decorating class… but this wasn’t any cupcake decorating class, it was tattoo themed! Now I’m not the most artistic of people and I don’t really like to cook but I’m all for trying new things…and, well, there would be free cake so…

Charlotte was a great teacher and made each step super fun and easy to follow. She’d made us all a batch of yummy cupcakes and we were tasked with going crazy and getting as creative as possible with fondant, food colouring and¬†edible¬†glitter!

I kinda fell in love with the unicorn mold and made it my personal¬†mission¬†to create a glitter rainbow unicorn. Well, you wouldn’t have expected anything less would you? And a little FYI in case you weren’t sure – there is no such thing as too much edible glitter.

Gareth being Gareth, he stole the show. He was the only boy at the class (and Charlotte’s first male attendee!) but he put us all to shame with his perfectly¬†executed¬†fondant molds and his incredible handdrawn dagger design. Do I have a hidden p√Ętisserie¬†in my mist?

A Sunday Kind of Love: Looking Forward

Seeing double? Photo nicked from Alexa Kent’s Instragram

On Friday Gareth & I packed up the car (again!) and drove down to Brighton (again!) for another School of Rock blogging workshop. The event was fabulous, my class were ace, and the whole thing left me with a warm n fuzzy feeling inside. As we drove away that night (slightly topped up with the¬†celebratory¬†after-workshop-wines – don’t worry Gareth was driving!) I turned to him and gushed away about how¬†incredibly blessed¬†I feel. Like, how is this my life? As someone who tentatively¬†dipped her little toe into the blogosphere all those years ago, I can’t quite¬†believe¬†that people now line up to come and hear me speak about my journey. Like seriously… this is nutso. Even Darren Rowse of Problogger is singing my praises. Yeah no big deal or anything…

Goth Adventures in Prague with La Carmina & Go with Oh!

Disclaimer: I’m going to try and not make this post just a boring “er, wanna look at my holiday snaps” kinda blog post. Try I sad…

One of my goals for 2012 was to push myself out of my comfort zone more, and to travel as much as possible. I’ve never been a huge traveller, but I strongly felt that in order to broaden my horizons and provide more well rounded and interesting blog topics that starting to do more of it was important. So when Japanese travel and goth fashion blogger¬†La Carmina, who I’ve spoken to online for the past 4+ years, asked if I wanted to join her in Prague for a few days I¬†disregarded¬†my feelings of trepidation and nerves and said hell yes!

The trip was sponsored by Go with Oh who own rental apartments all over Europe. We were on the top floor of a gorgeous gothic-esque looking apartment building and despite the disruptive stag do over the corridor it was perfect! This was the apartment we stayed in. It was huge Рa massive bedroom, two bathrooms, a reception area, a kitchen/lounge and an outside terrace! Especially after just getting back from New York and being hauled up in a teeny apartment, I felt like we were living like kings queens!

We had a view over the Vltava river and it was just a 10 minute hop skip and jump over the water to Old Town.

Bright Lights, Late Nights, Shopping & Disco Trees…Why, It Must be a Las Vegas Round Up Post!

The view from Gala & Nubby’s suite at The Cosmpolitan. Not too shabby…

What time is it? What¬†country¬†am I in? How do I form¬†sentences¬†again…?

Greetings. This morning’s blog post comes from a head that still hasn’t quite got back on UK time. It may have been a week since I landed back at Heathrow, but I’m still finding it hard to get back on track! However waking up at 2pm and going to bed at 4am could work for me I reckon…

Those of you that follow me on Twitter or Facebook will have been lucky (or unlucky, whichever way you look at it!) to have been force-fed regular updates from my Las Vegas adventure over the past few weeks, but today I thought it necessary to put off getting back to work just a little while longer in order to share some of my favourite photos and fun times from Viva Las Vegas.

I’m sure some of you are sick to death of hearing all about it already…sorry about that…but for the rest of you I hope you enjoy this extra epic extra huge post dedicated to one of my new favourite places, the city they call Sin…

Glitter balls at Gallery Nightclub, Planet Hollywood

I visited Vegas primarily for WPPI with David & Lisa, however I was also lucky enough that my girls Gala & Nubby came into town at the same time so we were able to hang out and do fun girly things all week! Soooo what started as just another work trip was transformed into a magical holiday packed with full on adventure, sequins and giggles (oh so many giggles!)

Warning this is a really long and very image heavy post! I suggest a cup of tea and a hobnob or two while you have a nosy through…

Day 1

Excited on the plane (please excuse crappy front-facing camera phone photo!)

David & I arrived early evening on Thursday. Feeling a little worse for wear jet-lag wise we kept our first night simple. We went for a wonder down The Strip from our hotel,¬†The Stratosphere,¬†and ended the night with a few drinks in the hotel bar. I’ll be straight up honest with you, I wasn’t too sure about our hotel before we got there. It pretty far up Las Vegas Boulevard, right at the north end and just before you hit the downtown area, and wasn’t anything like the fancy smancy themed ones that everyone else we knew seemed to be staying in! However it was way cheaper than a lot of the other hotels, since we hired a car it was easy to get into the hub of Vegas, just 5-10 minutes… plus parking in all the hotels is FREE. Amazing! Hiring a car was the best thing we did as although cabs are not too expensive (about $15 + tip from one end of The Strip to the other) they certainly do add up!

Day 2

Oh, Hello there Kitty!

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right?! After a day of wondering around and getting our bearings (and posing with the locals see above…) David & I decided a proper night out was in order. We started off by meeting Erin of Knot Couture¬†who I’ve chatted to a lot online, before heading to see…The¬†Chippendale’s!

It wasn’t grown up, clever or classy but oh boy was it funny! The girls who were called up on stage to do ‘tasks’ with them were seriously brave (or just very drunk!) If you’re in Vegas with some¬†like-minded¬†silly friends I’d totally¬†recommend¬†letting your inhibitions go and seeing them. Perfect for an unclassy hen do!

We ended the night by dancing to the wee hours at a 24 hour nightclub (yes, only in Vegas could a ‘day club’ be as popular as a night club!) We felt roughidy rough rough rough the next day but it was worth it!

Day 3

Feeling slightly delicate, we took day 3 at a nice slow pace. We tried out the oxygen bar in our hotel which was surprisingly brilliant for our hangovers, followed by an IHOP breakfast.

Omaha Fashion Week – Guitars, Fire & Biting Flies…Just a Regular Photo Shoot with Princess Lasertron

After a well earned and strong coffee to settle our post-TV nerves, it was onto the next order of the day. A photo shoot! Told you I was busy didn’t I…?

The Photo Shoot

Megan had also arranged for me to do a photo shoot with local online magazine Esoteric Velvet (they also interviewed me which you can read here) to showcase her amazing dress. So after the TV slot we were whisked to Tru Salon & Spa where I was transformed into a cyber punk-esque goddess, complete with multi coloured dreadlock extensions, make up by a drag queen (I loved it Рthat dude knew how to do eye make up let me tell you!) and ripped up tights.

We then drove to what I can only describe as a deserted and slightly smelly field on the side of the freeway, complete with biting flies and a stagnant swamp. Oh the glamour huh!? I jest I jest.

The shoot was awesome and the team filled me with inspiration. I got to set fire to a guitar (well they did, I just posed and tried to concentrate on whether the heat I was feeling was coming from the blaring sun or the fire by my fingers) then release some pent up aggression and smash it up.

The shoot was super fun and the results are pretty damn wicked non? I’m in AMERICA baby!
