After originally planning a massive wedding for nearly 300 guests, the stress all got too much for Tiffany & Ryan and they were forced to cancel the wedding. When it came to planning it for the second time, they decided to scale it all down and focus on what really mattered - them. "Three years ago I was planning a wedding inspired by what every magazine and television show told me it should be," Tiffany told me. "Like most couples, our guest list had exploded, tilting at nearly 300 people. The stress of pleasing everyone was becoming too much, we were way over budget and the fun was non-existent. My fiancé and I loved each other very much, but we both hated what getting married was doing to us. A few months prior to the wedding we suffered two personal tragedies back to back so we threw our hands up and called it quits. Ashley & Jeremy are wedding photographers so were in Las Vegas at the same time as I was for WPPI. After the Airplanes & Blazers party (which I was also at...!) Jeremy was sitting at a table with Patrick from StillMotion (while Ashley was off in the bathroom) and Jeremy was telling Patrick he would love to propose. Patrick encouraged him, telling him if he proposed and they got married while they were all still in Vegas, Patrick would shoot it! When Ashley returned, Patrick proposed, right there and then by saying "Will you marry me...on Wednesday?!" So just 36 hours later, they were married in the Pop Up Wedding Chapel at the Cosmopolitan Hotel with all of their best wedding photographer friends from WPPI watching.Read more...

Danielle & Jose are probably about the cutest couple I know. The first time I met them, at a party in LA last August, we spent the whole night huddled in the corner chatting about life, love, the universe and our mutual appreciation of British culture and photo booths! So when Danielle emailed me just before I left for Vegas to tell me they were going to be there are the same time I just about squealed with delight to be able to see my friends again.Read more...

For the third and final setting of the Las Vegas Lovers shoot, Gala, Nubby & I wanted to get a little mean & moody...and that meant monochrome, silver and something a bit more dramatic! We moved from our beloved Ghost Town (Nubby & I have since decided we might take up residence there...just as long as someone can sort out some interwebz for us please...) and ambled towards a good-looking piece of desert.Read more...

After the fun we had frolicking around the RV Park, Gala, Nubby & I were super excited to see the second location that David had found - an abandoned ghost town! Finally it's here, the shoot I've been mercilessly teasing you with! When Gala & Nubby told me they were going to be in Las Vegas at the same time as David, Lisa & I, I just about jumped at the chance for us to all shoot together. It may have been a week since I landed back at Heathrow, but I'm still finding it hard to get back on track! However waking up at 2pm and going to bed at 4am could work for me I reckon... So part two of my American Adventure™ is underway! Last August Gareth & I globe-trotted over to Omaha and LA, and this week I'm off to Las Vegas for 2 weeks! I'm heading out for the WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) conference and as it's such a long way to go, Lisa, David & I thought we'd extend our trip into a little holiday too...oh do a photo shoot with Gala & Nubby! I am SO EXCITED. It's the first time in a long time that I will have been away from Gareth for such an extended period though...sad face. Lori & Tom were married in Las Vegas in a casual and laid back wedding. They kept their day simple and significant to them, as Lori explains, “We live in London and met at Coachella music festival in 2007. We wanted intimate (we were thinking 35 people, we ended up with 54!) and casual, a bit different and more of a party than a wedding. No ice sculptures, receiving lines, or head tables. We just wanted to have a big party with our family and close friends. My family live in Vancouver and Tom’s family in England, so we decided that if guests were going to travel, then why not make it a big holiday in Vegas? Bex & Jinx were married in The Graceland Chapel in Las Vegas. They didn't have a reception in Vegas though as only themselves and Bex's bridesmaid's were in attendance. However they had a big party with all their friends and family when they got back home to Australia. Bex wore a reproduction 1950's style dress made by Joy Taylor and leopard print shoes to match the belt and bolero by Diana Ferrari. Her bridesmaid's also rocked the leopard print in custom made 'wiggle dresses' also by Joy Taylor and red glitter wedges from Steve Madden.Read more...

You remember The Bowie Bride and her ridiculously awesome 'Hitchfest 2010' wedding right? Well I have news...and news that shows that even the most meticulously planned/detail-heavy/totally killer weddings can...erm...sometimes go wrong. Britt emailed me this week to tell me all about the drama! "Basically we were told that the wedding we spent over a year planning and pouring our collective heart and soul into, didn't count. Not one bit. We were, at first, very shocked and devastated. Our wedding day was oh-so-special and unique and was such a personal expression of our love that upon hearing this news, made it seem all for not. We knew we were married in our heart of hearts, but legally, our marriage wasn't legal." "This is what happened... we think: Our officiant was supposed to mail our marriage paperwork back after everyone put down all the appropriate signatures. For whatever reason, this step did not occur. So when we went to go order a copy of the marriage certificate, the state told us that we are not legally married and that it was too late to send them the original paperwork from our July 31st nuptials. Cut to us letting out a collective sigh mixed with a resounding, 'F*ck' and a couple of 'What do we do now's?' We knew we had to get ourselves married. Again. But how? We had considered heading down to the courthouse and doing it quick 'n dirty style, but that didn't seem fun enough or crazy enough for a couple like us. I mean, we started the dance party at our 'first' wedding with a group shot of tequila. It was Elvis' birthday on Saturday so I thought I'd mark the occasion by sharing Amy & Daylen's awesome Elvis-influenced Las Vegas wedding with you this morning!Amy & Daylen were married at Graceland Chapel, Vegas by Elvis (of course) followed by an informal and rockin' party reception at the MGM Grand in the Skyloft Suite. "We had a reception with about 25 of us at a Skyloft Suite, then all of us took a party bus to Graceland Chapel to get married by Elvis, we chose the Blue Hawaii package and Elvis sang 3 songs," explained the bride. Amber & Mike pride themselves on their unconventionality and so wanted to make sure their wedding was just that too. "It made perfect sense to go to Vegas," Amber told me. "However, we even bucked Vegas tradition by not getting married in a small chapel by Elvis. We found an amazing garden complete with ducks, just right off the strip. I'd like to consider our wedding half elopement, half planned (we planned in 4 weeks). My muse for the entire wedding was a single lipstick that I'm obsessed with called Melrose Mood. Imagine the most obnoxiously, opaque, electric baby baby pink and you're sort of close to what it looks like." The bride is a make up artist so did all her hair and make up herself. In fact she seemed to almost enjoyed the getting ready part of the day as much as the actual wedding bit! "I spent the morning with my bridesmaids doing make up, eating gummy dice and card cookies (amongst other treats). We had an amazing bridal photo shoot in the atrium at Bellagio where we captured some sweet Alice inspired photos. Which is totally fitting since my husband is related to the real Alice in Wonderland, Alice Liddell (can you say "keeper"?). I wore were 6 inch heels entirely covered in Swarovski crystals.
