Autumnal, Halloween Themed Wedding with Custom Made Tombstones!

Bridey and Jon spent just £5000 on their incredible October wedding in 2018, but you’d never be able to tell! They DIYed up a storm and chose venues that were inexpensive in order to stay within budget.

“I was never one to dream of a big expensive day,” explained the bride (who, by the way, has the best name ever!) “so we flexed our DIY skills and had an extravagant honeymoon to the Hard Rock Hotel in Tenerife instead!”

Autumnal, Vegan, Treehouse Wedding by Candlelight

The Alnwick Treehouse is a one-of-a-kind venue in The Alnwick Garden, Northumberland. Built from sustainably sourced Canadian cedar, Scandinavian redwood and English and Scots pine, it sits high in the treetops in a copse of mature lime trees and looks as if it has been there forever. What a spectacular spot to say your ‘I dos’! Liam and Jade knew it was the ideal place for their October 2018 wedding as soon as they saw it.

They wanted their autumn wedding to feel ethereal and to be surrounded by trees. “It was always going to be a forest wedding”, Jade explained. “Liam calls me a pixie and everyone at work has nicknamed me pixie (I have no idea why but everyone thinks I look like a pixie!) We have always taken our dog Beatrice on walks in the forest and pixies in the forest just became a thing for us. We are both vegan and both quite spiritual too. Liam more so than me, he loves to meditate and do yoga in the forest.”

An Autumnal Forest Meets Fairytale Multicultural Wedding

There is NOTHING we love more at Rock n Roll Bride than celebrating the uniqueness of each and every person, and each and every wedding that we publish. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times, what makes Rock n Roll Bride so great, what makes our features so diverse and unique… IS YOU. You and your utterly gorgeous celebrations of love!

Annabelle and Ibrahim were married in October. They wanted their wedding to be a celebration of both of their backgrounds – the groom’s Pakistani heritage, and the bride’s love of books and writing.

“I am a writer and huge lover of stories, especially of the fantasy kind”, began the bride, “and Ibrahim is half Pakistani. This helped a lot of our décor and what we wore. We love to celebrate each other and what makes us unique, and that’s where our inspiration stemmed from. We combined my love of stories and fantasy and Ibrahim’s love for his Pakistani culture and laced them together to create something that appeared autumnal overall.” Their wedding was flooded with hues of red, gold, orange and green, which worked perfectly for the season too.

Industrial Inspired Vegas Wedding with Alpacas & Baby Goats!

Stephen and Perla met through work, hitting it off during a company merger. It’s just as well they worked well together as they now own a photo booth business together! You are going to absolutely LOVE this wedding for so many reasons… But the big one has got to be those adorable BABY GOATS!!

Unlike many couples who head to Vegas to elope, Stephen and Perla live and work in the city so they had the capital of unique weddings right on their doorstep. The couple chose The Doyle to host their day – a laidback, downtown venue complete with a cool, industrial space that they could put their own stamp on, and resident baby goats and alpacas! “The venue having baby goats and alpacas in residence was a huge plus,” said Perla. “They made for some adorable photos and everyone loved petting them during cocktail hour!”

Moody Autumnal Wedding with Skulls and Flowers

Ben and Jo met on Myspace through mutual friends in 2007 and began chatting on MSN. They met in person while studying at uni and have been inseparable ever since!

Inspiration for their wedding was drawn from their lives and their relationship. Jo grew up in Sydney, so they used native Australian flowers and foliage throughout their day. Skulls have always had significance for the couple; Ben has more skull tattoos than you can count and Jo’s engagement ring was adorned with skulls, so they continued this throughout their decor. They even had Ben’s tattoo artist design them a wedding tattoo and added into their temporary tattoo station by Doris Loves!

Although Jo and Ben didn’t do any ‘arts and crafts’ in terms of DIY projects for their day, instead entrusting talented professionals and designer-makers to complete their aesthetics, they were innovative with their ideas – decorating the venue with glass skulls filled with fairy lights and decorating signs to tie in with their stationery. The scoured the likes of Hobbycraft, TKMaxx and Asda Homewares in the lead up to their wedding collecting skull snow globes, skull tea light holders and the glass skulls to use throughout their decor.

Book-Themed Budget-Savvy September Wedding

Although it doesn’t look it, Jennie and Alex only spent £3000 on their September wedding. They were as thrifty as possible and made some really clever choices to save as much cash as they could. They were married at The Athenaeumy in Bury St Edmunds and had their reception at Risby Village Hall.

The bride’s Grace Loves Lace dress was bought at a sample sale and she paired it with vintage shoes that had belonged to a friend of her mum who wore them to her own wedding the same year Jennie was born!

Other money saving items included the cake, which was made by a friend, the bridesmaid dresses because they were chosen and purchased by the bridesmaids themselves, and the flowers that were bought from a local market stall and arranged bu the groom!
