Rock n Revolution – A Parisian Sneak Peek Part 1

Kat

October 13, 2010

Yes, that is how excited I am to share this. As most of you will know I headed over to gay Parieeee this week for the shoot to end all shoots, and BOY did it deliver. As you can probably see, the theme was punk rock Marie Antoinette and the props the stylist sourced were amazing. The dresses were super impressive (although I'll be honest, I was a little afraid of them - they were BIG!) I got papped by more tourists than I'd like to count and was asked to appear in a French music video! I am a total Paris convert and will demand that Gareth takes me there again tout de suite!

A Homemade Dress, A Rock Concert & A Kissing Booth!

Kat

October 12, 2010

There are just some couples that you can only describe as utterly cute, and Lindsey & Noah are certainly that! They chose The Sons of Hermann Hall, a historical building in downtown Dallas, TX as their venue because it is one of their favourite places to go and see live music. Lindsey wore an unusual and fabulous dress, designed and made by her Mother. For the ceremony, the dress was full-length but for the party, the some of the bottom tiers were removed to create this cute, short and sassy number (seriously, love this idea!) "I looked at the big bridal stores and couldn't find anything that fit my personality," Lindsey told me. "My Mom showed up at my house one day and revealed that she had been working on a dress for me that she was just making for fun. I tried desperately to think of ways to let her down easy, thinking that there was no way that I could get married in a dress my Mom made. However, I tried it on and I absolutely loved it. It had the ruffle, the charm and just the right fit. She actually made the dress out of eyelet dust ruffles that she got in the home furnishing section of a department store! I can't even put into words how special it was to walk down the aisle wearing a dress handmade with love just for me by my Mother. She instinctively knew exactly what I wanted for my wedding day. I was forced to wear flats because three days before the wedding I tripped on the sidewalk while going to get our marriage license and banged up both of my feet. I couldn't cram my swollen feet into my cute yellow wedges I had planned to wear, but a pair of fabulous blue flats from Target saved the day."

Rachel & Daniel’s Modern Vintage Wedding… With Special Guest – The Pope!

Kat

October 11, 2010

Rachel & Daniel got married at The Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, a modern building that gave their vintage styled wedding an unusual twist. The bride wore a gorgeous dress from Rock n Roll Bride favourite Fur Coat No Knickers. To keep things personal, they made their own cake ("It looked fine as long as it wasn't in a strong light!" the bride laughed. "The ribbons were held in place by satay skewers - all we could find the night before we delivered it to the venue!")

A Sunday Kind of Love – Ooh Laa Laa Paris!

October 10, 2010

Bonjour mes petits amis! Tomorrow I am heading over the channel to Paris (!) to embark on the photo shoot to end all photo shoots! This bad boy is seriously going to blow the lid off everything I've done before. I am a mixture of excited, elated and seriously nervous but I literally can not wait to stand under The Eiffel Tower and meander down The Champs-Elysées dressed in my finery...oh and what finery it is. I'm not really allowed to tell you anything else about it, but I do believe we've got some of the most exciting and well known industry experts and designers on board! You are literally going to die when you see what we've got up to. Because of this mini-adventure, posting will be a bit light over the next few days (I do have a couple of awesome wedding scheduled to keep you going though) and I won't be replying to emails until I return.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that an engaged woman in possession of a good wedding plan must be a bridezilla! Well, here at Rock n Roll Bride magazine, we don’t believe in such a thing. So, let me don my bonnet and ready my carriage… because I’m about to set off with you… into the land of obstinate, headstrong girls…

Texture, Joy and Rebellion at New York Bridal Fashion Week 2026

Kat

October 22, 2025

New York Bridal Fashion Week has wrapped, and this season it was all about reimagining the bridal rules (something we are, of course, a huge fan of at Rock n Roll Bride!) One thing stood out to us the most: the next generation of brides are more focused on self-expression, comfort, and the meaning behind their choices. The biggest shift? Texture, tactility, and detail took centre stage. Designers are crafting gowns that feel alive with things like pleats, layers, feathers and even sculpture. There was pleasing amount of colour too! The modern nearlywed isn’t content with a plain white dress. She wants depth. She wants movement. She wants to feel something.

The Rock n Roll Bride Manifesto (Because We Actually Give a Shit)

Kat

October 16, 2025

For over 18 years, Rock n Roll Bride has existed to celebrate creativity, individuality, and honesty in weddings. We’ve never chased trends or played the popularity game, and we never will. This manifesto is our line in the sand, what we stand for, what we promise you and what we stand against. As the world feels like its going even more mad, as the wedding industry gets even more expensive to work in and be a couple in, we felt it was a good time to remind you exactly what we do - and don't - stand for.

Electric Sugar Elopements

November 5, 2025

Aimee and Jon left Birmingham to get married in the Nevada desert. The bride loved the idea of Vegas, the groom wanted something outdoors or in the mountains, so as soon as they found out about the little chapel at Eldorado Canyon, they knew it would be the best of both worlds. Eldorado Canyon gave them the intimacy they wanted, but they still ended the day in true Vegas fashion. After the ceremony they changed outfits and headed to the Strip and Downtown to celebrate.

Nothing says Halloween wedding more than the Corpse Bride and this shoot may be one of the best homages we've ever seen. It blends slight Victorian-inspired details with modern drapery and design elements, bringing together a touch of the past and present for a hauntingly beautiful, editorial goth vibe.

Stag & Bird

October 29, 2025

This shoot, dubbed Goth Glam by everyone involved, was created out of a need to shake things up. The team wanted to bring together Kansas City’s weirdest, boldest, and most unapologetic creatives and make something that proved “high-end” doesn’t have to mean beige. They called it a love letter to the alt-lux side of weddings: velvet and smoke, drama and decadence, edge and elegance. The goal was to show that goth, glam, and alternative can sit right alongside luxury, without losing the grit.
