Dreamscape: A Floral Daydream in a 300-Year-Old Country House

Dating back to 1724, Crowcombe Court is a stunning example of English Regional Baroque architecture nestled in the heart of Somerset. Home to the Carew family for generations, the house remained in their care until the 1960s. Since then, it has been lovingly restored to its former grandeur and now serves as a breathtaking exclusive-use wedding venue, proudly owned by The Gilchrist Collection.

We were beyond excited to shoot issue 61’s editorial in such a historically rich and inspiring setting. Drawing inspiration from the soft blue and green hues of The Great Hall and The Ballroom, we infused the space with flowers (because florals for spring, duh!) but with a twist. Taking our cues from the fantastical work of Tim Walker, we opted for giant paper flowers and striking floral gowns and accessories, rather than fresh blooms.
