Charlie and Mark had a pretty unconventional, NSFW engagement shoot (which is actually one of my favourites we've ever published!) so, unsurprisingly, their September wedding shunned tradition too. They decided that they wanted a bohemian inspired by with elements of Peaky Blinders and Wes Anderson. They did lots of DIY projects to make their day feel really special and personal. In particular they arranged all the flowers and created all the paper goods (invites, table plan, order of the day etc).

Em and Tam were married in August at Court Farm in Standerwick, a lovingly restored 16th Century farmhouse set in ten acres of gardens and grounds in the heart of the English countryside. It was the perfect backdrop for their laid back day. They wanted their wedding to feel vibrant yet folky and they were inspired by vintage Americana, retro elements and Mexico.

However there was no question in our minds when we clapped eyes on Alexa and Andries' two day celebration in South Africa. They decided to split the wedding in two, with an intimate church ceremony for just close family and a big reception for everybody else three days later.

Katherine and Jason's wedding was like something out of a movie, and was a real community effort. They rented a cabin for all their guests to stay in the week before. The day itself started with a first look, right by the water, followed by an intimate and nature-inspired ceremony. They served burritos and dessert bought from Costo and the day ended with them skinny dipping!

Karen and Dean were married in the ruins of Ettington Park's chapel in October. Their day had a gothic theme which was reflected in the bride's choice of black wedding dress (made by The Couture Company), their Black Cherry Cake Company cake and all the decorations. They used skeletons, trailing ivy, dramatic candelabras with black candles and purple and black flowers.

I have two very distinct sides to my personality: A rainbow loving, magpie emulating, glitter obsessive, 'Disney is everything!' side and an all-black-all-the-time, metal music listening, 'forever looking for the perfect nude lipstick' side. I am nothing if not a contradiction but for some reason it makes total sense to me. One day I want to roll myself in glitter, dress head to toe in rainbows and slick on some hot pink lipstick, and the next I only want to wear black and for everything to be clean and very neatly organised.

Claire and Tom went for a Mexican/Day of the Dead theme for their July wedding. Complete with sugar skulls, piñatas, flamingos and sombreros, they planned their day with a £5000 budget. They also had a few geeky video game touches (particularly on their cake) such as Fallout and zombies and some Lego used in the terrariums!

Brides wearing leather or denim jackets is nothing new (in fact I'd say it's probably one of the 'trends' I see more than anything else these days!) So, when a bride is able to take something we see a lot, twist it on it's head and make it 100% her own, well we are DOWN. That's precisely what Gia did when she married Adam in August. She wore a quite traditional dress but added a twist of 'her' with her custom made jacket by Charlotte Hudson.

Please allow me to be a broken record because HOT DAMNNNN, I am so thrilled with this cover! Nailing a cover-worthy shot is one of the most difficult/ stressful parts of creating a magazine so when we get it this right it fills my heart with JOY! I'm not even going to be modest about it because I literally love it so much. That glittery eye! The fluffy jacket! Her beautiful hair perfectly framing our logo - ugh it's all so good!
