Netty and Andy were married in Northampton during August. They wanted their wedding to be colourful and fun. "We picked wedding suppliers that were really arty and talented", began the bride. "Our photographer, Hannah of Casey Avenue, was both creative and quirky which suited our style perfectly. Hattie & Flora did our flowers and took our colourful brief and ran with it! By having such great suppliers our wedding was really relaxed and really 'us'. It was such a lovely celebration, and apart from being a bit nervous, we didn't feel stressed. It wasn't too fussy, we just had a really good party."

I think I can safely speak for my fellow headmistresses when I say that this year has been a non-stop whirlwind of epic proportions! Since last October we've taught ten classes, with three still to come before the year is out. When we launched The Blogcademy in August last year we didn't know if anyone would actually want to come, so the fact that today we're announcing our SECOND world tour is pretty damn exciting indeed!

Cassandra and Howard were married at The Roost in Dalston, London, a photographic studio and shooting location. Because it wasn't a traditional wedding venue it meant their whole day was really chilled out and non-traditional, but also that they could completely plan it the way they wanted. "We’d had a really small and intimate wedding ceremony in Cornwall with just our immediate families so we wanted to throw a vintage wedding tea party for friends and relatives here in London", began the bride. "The Roost was an amazing find. It's a former Victorian pub in deepest, darkest Dalston converted into a four floor photographic and film shoot location. My heart skipped a beat the first time we viewed it. It was perfect. I just loved the eclectic vintage vibe and ‘out there’ style of the place. From the gorgeous House Of Hackney wallpapers, to the giant props, old film posters and quirky paintings on the wall. We were just blown away."

It's the same old song and dance. I got to Australia for our final leg of The Blogcademy 2013 tour in a little under two weeks (cue major freak out!) and so I'm spending most of my waking hours desperately trying to get as much blog content written and scheduled for while I'm away. This is no mean feat when you have at least two blog posts per day for three and a half weeks to do (not to mention the blog posts before I go as well!) ARGH.

A few years ago, before Gareth and I were married, I became good friends with Hannah*. She was one of those effortlessly beautiful girls, someone who you'd do a double take at if you saw her walking down the street. She was tall, stylish, funny, confident and, quite frankly, everything I wasn't. We had mutual friends and we hit it off immediately, quickly spending a lot of our time together. She was single and the two of us would go out most weekends, making a little mischief but most of all just having a damn good time.

Rebecca and Bentley's low key and relaxed wedding was held at Celebrations in Moseley, Virginia. They had a full weekend of festivities, starting with a picnic on Saturday, a brunch together on the Sunday morning and the wedding ceremony and main reception on the Sunday afternoon.

Adam and Amanda love steampunk and so the theme for their wedding was an obvious choice. They wanted to get their guests into the spirit of their wedding so they asked them to dress in costumes too... and they all did! Amanda's dress was from Viola Lahger which she wore with a little hat by Linekka and Adam's outfit was pieced together from items found at flea markets.

In early 2012, Sassy of Assassynation Photography, Jo of The Couture Company and Rawhide Corsets and Vikki of Liliia had a dream. They dreamt of a wedding fair that was truly alternative and one that showcased only the best of the best alt wedding suppliers. They wanted to have a place to host the kinds of suppliers they saw ignored by other, mainstream and vintage, wedding events.

After their small legal ceremony at Bletchley Registry Office, Hannah and Craig hosted their wedding in Craig's parent's back garden. They had a blessing followed by a marquee reception. The bride wore two dresses. The first, which she also wore again for dancing at the end of the night, was a bodice and skirt from BHLDN. Her second, more traditional gown was from Trudy Lee

As soon as I saw Amy's amazing fairy princess ball gown wedding dress I knew I wanted to see more of her wedding, but when I found out she and husband Stephen planned the whole thing for just £5000 I knew you'd be dying to see it too! The wedding had a 'fun and games' theme with 80s toys on the tables, an egg and spoon race and the bridesmaids (and bridesman!) carrying giant lollipops instead of bouquets.

One of the things we learnt very quickly was that throwing phrases like "You ALWAYS do this..." or "You NEVER do that..." when having a disagreement not only never resolved anything, but only ended up hurting the other person much more.

Ali and Ben met while they were both working at PlayStation. This mutual love fro all things techy and geeky was a recurring theme throughout their festival inspired wedding. Instead of using lots of paper they sent out digital invitations and had an online gift list, their seating plan was animated and they had pacman references everywhere. Each tier of their homemade wedding cake was a different PlayStation symbol, and they even the meme style table names!
