Rockabilly, Sailor Jerry & Tattoo Themed Pub Wedding for £2000

When the couple met via an Instagram account called “The bearded pantie droppers“, you know it’s going to be a good wedding. And you’d be right – Rose and Matt’s rockabilly pub wedding day was a glorious melee of everything they loved including donuts, tattoos and Sailor Jerry. Not only that, but it was all done for £2000. TWO. THOUSAND. POUNDS!

“The inspiration for our wedding was Sailor Jerry, as an artist and the rum,” Rose and Matt explain, “so all of our ideas stemmed and evolved from that. Rose has a mild neon lighting obsession also, so our centrepieces were Sailor Jerry rum bottles we’d collected with an artificial rose in each, and a neon light saying ‘love’ leaning against them, as well as a heart-shaped circus-style light.”

Rockabilly Meets Halloween Wedding

Choosing 31st October as their wedding date, Lauren and Galen opted for a spooky Halloween theme. With a £10,000 budget they planned a wedding that was quirky, creative and a hell of a lot of fun. They had hints of the 1950s and rockabilly too.

“Our wedding was It was a bit of a mish-mash of industrial vintage (particularly with the venue we chose) mixed in with 50s rockabilly and a bit gothic”, said the bride. “We wanted to squeeze both of our broad interests in there somewhere! Our main inspiration was Halloween. It has always been my favourite day of the year, so having it on this particular day was always something I had in mind. It suited the style we wanted completely so I was overjoyed the venue had this date available!”

The day started with a small, intimate ceremony with just 45 guests. They decorated the ceremony room with lanterns running down the aisle and mini white squashes and flower-filled pumpkins scattered the room. “We kept a lot of traditional elements of a wedding and just gave them our own gothic, Halloween twist. We didn’t want to go too crazy but did want it to be different enough for people to talk about the day and remember it. I was very nervous before the ceremony but once my father had walked me up the aisle, I was absolutely fine!”

Mid-Century Inspired Rock n Roll Wedding with a DIY Kissing Booth

Georgia and Vince’s wedding was hosted in the most beautiful little chapel we’ve ever laid eyes on. It was brought to life by their love of the 50s and 60s and their lovely personal and romantic day.

“Vince and I share a love of all things mid-century,” Georgia explains, “including the music, the fashion, the hairstyles, and the cars. When we became engaged, we both knew exactly what we wanted for our wedding and took influence from our love of the 50s and 60s.”

Georgia looked stunning in a beautiful polka dot tulle rockabilly dress from Pixie Pocket and a retro style veil from Me and My Girl Vintage, which sat atop her perfectly curled hair and vintage-inspired make up. Also – JUST LOOK AT HER LOVE HEART NAILS! Fierce and we’re feeling it.

Vince wore all black from Ferrari Formal Wear, with a black polka dot pocket square. We also love that Georgia and Vince got ready together in the morning, before Georgia got changed for an intimate first look.

Dia De Los Muertos Meets Psychobilly Wedding in a Berlin Nightclub

Daniela and Thomas’s wedding day was a mixture of Rock n Roll, psychobilly and Dia De Los Muertos, which the bride describes as a “Happy, loud and without any conventions” kind of day. They had ‘first look’ photos taken and also stopped in at an Oreo pop-up store on their way to the ceremony, which was held in an old circus tent! Their reception party was in a rockabilly club in the middle of Berlin where they had a live band playing so it was like a gig – they first met at a psychobilly concert in the bride’s hometown of Munich, so this was a lovely nod to that.

Daniela said they were inspired by, “The Latino feeling and understanding of life and happiness. Colourful but Rock n Roll. Our wedding planner, Svenja of Freakin‘ Fine Weddings, and I came up with Dia De Los Muerto for our main theme.”

Glamorous Old Hollywood Elopement with the Bride in Black

Stephanie and Raul met when they were only 16 and 18 when they worked together at their local K-Mart store. They started dating two years later after Stephanie asked him to be her date for her senior Winter Formal at her high school. After deciding to elope they were lucky enough to win an Instagram elopement contest run by Jessica Carrillo of Art & Soul Events and Photographer Evangeline Lane! They received complimentary photography, planning, florals, and hair and make up…How amazing!

They wanted their day to be a glamour-filled rockabilly elopement with lots of old Hollywood elements. They got ready separately at the Culver City hotel, once owned by Charlie Chaplin, and housed the munchkins while they filmed Wizard of Oz!

The bride wore a gorgeous black dress while Raul donned a red velvet jacket, both looking the epitome of old Hollywood glam. “We both love the rockabilly and pin-up lifestyle so it’s safe to say we stayed pretty true to that!” began Stephanie, “We were heavily inspired by our love for old Hollywood and history. Our love for the rockabilly subculture had a huge influence on our style, and we were also inspired by Miss Rockabilly Ruby‘s gorgeous vintage wedding. Another inspiration was make up artist Lora Arellano from Melt Cosmetics! Her wedding was out of this world!”

Vintage Pin Up Wedding with a Touch of The Great Gatsby

Bre and Matt’s wedding had a vintage yet moody theme with some Great Gatsby references. They were married in British Columbia in Canada in September. Their ceremony was on a rooftop overlooking the Okanagan Lake.

“We met when were were 13 and aged 17 we agreed that if we weren’t married to other people by 25 we’d marry each other!” Bre began. “Life took us on separate paths for a while, but we reconnected and actually started dating when we were 23. Not long after we started dating, we went on a big road trip, and one night on the California coast Matt told me he loved me. Fast forward two years and Matt planned another trip for us, which brought us back to the exact same place he told me he loved me. That night he proposed to me on the balcony overlooking the ocean. That promise we made when we were 17 had been kept, and at 25 we were engaged!”
