Wanting ‘something outdoorsy, informal and slightly mad’ from their October wedding, Nicci and Dave opted to invite their nearest and dearest to celebrate with them in a ceremony at Loch Morlich followed by a relaxed reception at Tomatin House.

‘No stress’ was the aim of their celebration, and to include as many personal touches as possible. “We had matching back patches with the kids which Dave designed”, Nicci told us. “We all wore custom Converse and we had shot glasses with our names and wedding date on and custom temporary tattoos with our wedding logo, too.”

Relaxed & Informal Kid-Friendly Wedding with the Bride in Blue

Taking inspiration from the pages of Rock n Roll Bride, Kate and James planned a wedding that was uniquely them, starting with Kate’s dress. She told us, “I knew from the moment I was engaged that I wouldn’t be wearing a white dress down the aisle. She explained, “I took James to Bodium Castle for our anniversary and I got custom slides made for one of those retro view finders with photos of us and the last slide said ‘Will you marry me?’. I used a rock ’n’ roll groom pin in place of an engagement ring. He wore his pin at the wedding and I got a matching rock ’n’ roll bride one that I pinned to my bouquet”.

“We took loads of inspiration from Rock n Roll Bride,” explained Beth. “We were on there daily looking at different ideas. All of the weddings featured really inspired us when we started planning, as it was great to see that there were other couples out there doing what they wanted! We also didn’t want the wedding to be too formal as it wasn’t our vibe. We didn’t have too much of a strategy when planning, if we liked it, it was in the wedding!”
