One Night Cereus

June 20, 2019

Matthew and Hillary wanted every aspect, from beginning to the end of their wedding day to feel very true to their personalities, their personal style and the things that they love. “We really wanted our guests feel like it was a wedding only we would have,” said Hillary. “ Our motto for the day ended up being ‘aesethic or forget it!’ We wanted to focus on what we love and share that with our guests, instead of focusing on traditions and the things we ‘should do.’”

Please excuse me for one second while I FREAK OUT over this wedding. Seph and Jason completely epitomise what Rock n Roll Bride is all about, and no it doesn't matter one little bit that there's no 'bride' in sight! The single thing that makes this wedding awesome AF is them... Oh and the fact that Seph wore goddamn crystal embellished stilettos for the day and looked way better in them than most women I know... Oh and all the Mean Girls references. OK OK there are many, many things that make this wedding slay my entire existence and I KNOW you're going to love it to.

The format of Jess and Tim's wedding was pretty unusual, but it ended up really working for them. Due to some restrictions they were unaware of when they booked their date, they weren't able to have their ceremony on the day they'd planned for, so ended up having a small intimate ceremony in February, followed by their big reception in March. Luckily they loved doing it this way around, and now have two wedding anniversaries to celebrate (bonus!)

Laura and Dom got engaged at the Grand Canyon while on a trip to Las Vegas. As they both love the city and 1950s glam, they decided that should be their wedding theme. Laura wore a red wedding dress, and they had a polka dot theme for the bridal party; the bridesmaids wore 50s style polka dot dresses and the groomsmen had polka dot pocket squares. For entertainment they had casino tables, a pianist, and Laura did a choreographed dance with her dad.

Paul and Shannon's Friday 13th wedding took place in November and had a super glam yet quirky theme. "The wedding was a reflection of everything that we are," said the bride. "Paul loves the prohibition era glitz and glam, I have an affinity for Vaudeville theatre and the vintage circus. We really have such a penchant for drama and over-the-top nonsense, it’s what makes us work so well together! So we infused the place with antique gold, gem-toned carnival glass, and absinthe cocktails. We even had a silent film reel projected onto the walls!"

Old School Glamour Meets Festival Wedding

Tams & Richie were married in County Wicklow, Ireland, in March. Their day was both glamorous and laid back, with a fun-filled festival theme. "We had been bashing our heads against a wall trying to think of a 'theme' for ages, and we landed with Old Hollywood Glamour", began Tams. "I was doing all of the invitations, props, design, look and feel myself, and I began to get really uncomfortable with the whole Hollywood theme and when people started referencing The Great Gatsby, it really didn't settle well. It’s a beautiful, stylised theme and I envy anyone who can pull it off, but it just wasn't us."
