Sean & Nicola love the great outdoors so that's exactly where they headed for their engagement shoot. A local country park provided the perfect setting for this sweet, fun and romantic photo shoot. Courtney & Jon got married at New York's City Hall in February with just their baby with them. Afterwards they headed to The Red Lion in Greenwich Village for a few drinks and some photographs. However this month they decided to have a big reception at Bridgewaters by the South Street Seaport to celebrate with all their friends and family. Courtney looks incredible in her modern ruffled dress - in fact so much so that someone stopped them in the street and asked if they were models or if they were actually getting married! Flickr is one of my favourite online hangouts. One of the things I most enjoy about it is uncovering a little gem of undiscovered talent or seeing a sneak peek of a wedding before everybody else and Flickr allows me to do just that. Whilst having one of my daily stalks, I saw this beautiful New Orleans, LA wedding and photo session. Matt & Anna Lora got married at Margaret Gardens (est. 1884) and afterwards had some beautiful portraits in the French quarter. Lee & Rose got married in Liverpool in a super duper stylish way. Rose's outfit is literally off-the-hook! Have you ever seen a bride look so damn funky? Plus (and you're going to love this) it is all from the British high street! Be sure to check out the full list of where each item was found after the photographic goodness. I am just mad about those tights... "There was no real theme as such, but the sort of couple we are means that we wanted something relaxed, informal and fun" Lee , the groom, told me "We wanted a simple wedding, we wanted to wear the outfits we wanted, we wanted to pay for everything ourselves, and more importantly, we wanted our friends and family to come and have a good time, not feel like they had to behave in a manner they normally wouldn't, i.e. no strict seating arrangements, not worrying about which knife to use to cut the bread roll, etc. We're not show-offs, and we're not millionaires, and we have our own sense of style, so we couldn't see the point in all this so-called 'traditional' excess that means the marriage starts off with £30,000 worth of debt! I love a quirky London wedding just as much as the next person so I whooped with joy when Connie & Jonny's was send my way. "We wanted to bring all our friends and family together for a massive party to celebrate us getting hitched" the bride began. "We kept certain traditions - getting everyone to sit down and have a big feed, and speeches etc, but we weren't keen on all the flowery formal bits, so to keep things lighthearted and personal we had the lovely ukelele band. We put our friends and family on a routemaster bus back to the reception (at Lena Restaurant, 66 Great Eastern St, London) Amazing food, great party space downstairs with loads of champagne. A friend drove my dad and I to the town hall in his VW camper van, and took Jonny and I (with music booming, a healthy supply of champagne) back to the reception (we drove back via regent’s park and stopped off in the sunshine to take it all in). Not really up for flowery delicate invites, we got Hanway print centre to print us some bright orange postcards. This fun all day trash the dress shoot was sent over by UK photographer Natasha Hurley. I really love seeingg the evolution of time thoughout these images - from the early morning light in the garden shots, to the late afternoon sun in the graffiti shots and the evening time darkness with the contrast of the artifical lights in the final urban images. Quite appart from that, the bride Miranda looks like she's having a ball and I love love love her heart shaped pink sunglasses.Read more...

For Jessica's trash the dress, she wanted to go for two different looks. So along side her husband Randy and her photographer Lori she got kitted out twice to create some images she'd always remember. First up was a retro rockabilly style urban session full of graffiti shots and stark architecture completed with her kick ass attitude and fashion including necklaces by Anna Sheffield for Target, the Je t'aime two finger ring (which I adore!) by Erica Anenberg and heels by Steve Madden. F0llowing this a much softer, more earthy style was required, so they all headed out to a local woodland with a gorgeous green chair and had a play around. For this style she wore vintage necklaces and a vintage coat, boots by MIA and a pink disc necklace by Dominique Cohen. Her dress in both sessions was from David's Bridal.Read more...

Anna & AJ's wedding certainly rocked pretty damn hard. They had a kick ass party at San Chez Bistro in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Although the day looked really classic and gorgeous, it certainly was edgy and unique in a lot of ways, which was a perfect reflection of who they are. Photographer Jill described Anna as a free spirit and who just kind of did things her own way, while still putting together a really classy celebration. The bride and her bridesmaids wore custom made dresses by Laurie Morrison and Anna had her birdcage veil made by the same designer. All the stunning and funky jewellery was by J Crew and the guys' look hot in their grey suits & pocket squares from Banana Republic. The whole wedding has a really great, laid back vibe to it and the end result is totally gorgeous. The best feature? Unable to shoot her cousin's wedding, Lauri of Zoom Photography decided to give Kaya & Jon a day after shoot to remember! Kaya and Jon are a true meeting of the minds. She works in advertising and he in finance, living in their Chicago loft, mostly run by their pug Chloe and bulldog Sebastian. Jon's passionate love of music is apparent from the moment you meet him, his inspired word choice, verbose nature and unsurpassed loyalty also make an immediate impression. Kaya’s extroverted and vivacious qualities, coupled with her caring and generous nature make her noticeably standout in a room full of loud and boisterous people. Just four years ago, there was Jon making another brilliant decision before the blaring juke box at Pint, a Chicago bar. But, instead of steering to his old faithful albums in peace, his decision was abruptly challenged. A sassy, slightly rude girl leaned up against him as she uttered "don't play anything BAD". Little did she know, Jon's musical choices were never bad, but he did enjoy a challenge. Three years later they travelled through Europe, and Jon proposed in Poland, where Kaya was born. Pledging his life to her on the very soil where her life had begun, Jon asked that she spend spend the rest of her life with him. On September 26th, standing before all of their friends and family, they were married overlooking Lake Michigan, at the John G. Shedd Aquarium, downtown Chicago. In true family style, Kaya walked down the aisle with her great grandmother's necklace, her grandfather's WWII patch sewn into her dress, and her new mother-in law's sapphire ring, for a touch of something blue! The wedding colors were inspired by the aquarium, cool celadon greens, and dark emeralds; centerpieces accented with coral and branches borrowed from nature. I actually can't get enough of Josephine Sicad's photography. Not only does each frame have that darling vintage tone to it, but every image just oooozes love...like you can tell how much she adores her work from the photographs alone...does that make sense or am I rambling again? The images also have that 'cinematic quality that I've always adored, like the boys of MangoRED before her, Josephine's image appear as if they could have been plucked right from a movie about a love story.
