When planning their August wedding, Hannah and Anthony decided they wanted to play up to the Great British summertime as well as their love of retro flair. The bride's step-mother made bunting, they printed seaside photographs of family members to decorate the venue and their cake was made to look like a sandcastle - complete with two crabs as a cake topper! On the tables they placed photographs of their dog, Wally, with seaside themed props. Even their rings were on theme - they were wooden rings by Hoot Cornwall, made using sand from Thorpeness beach.Read more...

Bryony said she always wanted to get married on their anniversary, so when she and James got engaged (on their 4th anniversary) and she realised that not only did their 6th anniversary fall on a Saturday but the date was 22/02/2020, it was settled! They opted for a celestial theme very early on and as shes not a fan of flowers, they didn't have any! Instead of floral bouquets and buttonholes, she made star and moon ones out of glittery card (which cost lest than £50 in materials!) She also made their cake and place names. Her dad made the moon photo backdrop and her mum made her iridescent sequined skirt using a YouTube tutorial!Read more...

Brendan and Cheyenne come from Reno, Nevada which, by their own admission, is known for it’s super-speedy drive thru weddings and wild nightlife. “This didn’t really fit us,” explained Cheyenne. “We wanted something small and intimate, and we wanted to take our time and make it special in our own way. We love to travel together, and I've always been totally drawn to the ocean, so we decided on Hawaii.”Read more...

Although they knew each other for a couple of years prior, Sami and Myles' relationship progressed quickly when they finally became an item. They got engaged after four months, Sami was pregnant at eight, and they were married in under a year. The bulk of the actual planning was done within just five weeks too! The theme for their wedding was simple, relaxed and outdoorsy - choosing a friend's back garden as their reception location.Read more...

Oh we sure do love a simple, fuss-free wedding here at Rock n Roll Bride - and even more so when the couple still manage to put their own stamp on the day while remaining within a sensible budget. While Amy and Jason only spent £7000, they didn't feel that sacrificed anything - they truly had the day they always wanted.Read more...

Jon and Steph’s love story had a rocky start - they met at a military charity boxing event on the army base where Jon was posted, but just a week later was posted over 180 miles away. Undeterred by this, they spent every night together in the time they had left, and Jon promised when he left that he would come back to see Steph at weekends. “I don’t think I really believed he would, so was happily proved wrong when he came back two weeks later!” Their determination to make things work paid off, and they were married in December.Read more...

Vicki and Olly wanted their August wedding to be bright, colourful and quirky but most of all; them! They went for a wildflower theme and all their guests were asked to attend in their ‘finest, fancy florals’. As well as flowers, they tried to incorporate other things they love; dinosaurs, alpacas, Lego and gnomes.Read more...

With a budget of just £4000, Kirsty and Ben knew their wedding plans had to be different to the majority of the weddings that Ben, a musician in a function band, sees day in day out. They wanted to have their day in a beautiful setting, but kept their guest list small to limit the expense. The wedding was held on a Thursday and they had just 13 guests at the reception, and had everyone sat around one big table for the meal, just like they were hosting a family meal at home.Read more...

nnah and AJ had a specific mission for their wedding day - for all their guests to be able to celebrate their individuality with them, as they both celebrated their individuality and their love for one another. There was no dress code, their ceremony was held in a spiritual circle which included everyone attending, and they didn’t stick to what people consider to be traditional norms.Read more...

Imagine what your wedding could be like if you had no-one else but yourselves to please. If you could wear what you wanted, invite who you wanted and spend the day exactly as you liked, no questions asked. This doesn't have to be a fantasy and although these images are from a photo shoot rather than a real ceremony, I think they're going to inspire you to look to yourselves for your wedding concept and ideas, rather than getting lost in a world of Pinterest boards and Facebook groups!Read more...

James and Lillian first met as members of a body modification website. After three years of chatting on MSN messenger (how all the best relationships are formed, of course) they finally met in person and became a couple after attending the wedding of a mutual friend. Many years and two children later, they decided to get hitched themselves, wanting a very laid back, chilled vibe for their day that didn’t cost the earth.Read more...

The words 'relaxed' and 'informal' are thrown around a lot in the wedding world, but if there was one wedding that truly epitomises what that might mean it's Kristý and Esteban's. Married in Czech Republic on the steps of the Hora Matky Boží monastery, what followed had all the makings of an epic house party rather than a wedding!Read more...
