Nel and Matt were married in a restored 600 year old gate house at the edge of an ancient oak forest. The wedding was held on the eve of summer solstice. "We just wanted a relaxed wedding where everyone could enjoy the surroundings and the significance of where we were", said the bride. "Luckily the weather was on our side! As having all of our friends and family in one place is a once in a lifetime event, we didn't like the idea of taking off to a hotel whilst everyone else was still enjoying the night, so we camped on site with the rest of our friends in a bell tent that our bridesmaids had decorated beautifully."Read more...

When Jess first saw Nick she felt like she was in her very own movie, "I was shopping with my mum and sister and we were taking a break in the food court. I looked up, and in slow motion (it was like a movie, I literally saw it in slow motion) I saw the most gorgeous man I had ever seen. I just sat, frozen in my seat, mouth open, staring shamelessly. Then (also in slow motion), he turned his head, locked eyes with mine, and winked. Not even joking. I giggled, blushed, and turned away. Next thing I know, I hear a voice say, 'Can I sit here?' I turn around, and it's him! Before I left the mall that day, I gave him my number, and we took a picture together, right in the food court."Read more...

Laura and Toni wanted a low key wedding. After a ceremony at Wellington registry office, this kiwi pair had a small gathering at Logan Brown restaurant. "The whole point of the day for us was not to make a whole set of decisions for everyone else", they explained. "All we kept hearing from other people was that they regretted making the whole day about keeping everyone else comfortable and ended up losing sight of the fact the event was supposed to be about them celebrating their love for each other. We debated eloping to Vegas (seriously) for about a year, before finally settling on doing something small, private and intimate, locally."Read more...

Gabriella and Iain wanted a relaxed and rustic wedding. They picked Lower Grange Farm in Kent as their venue. "When planning our wedding we wanted to make sure that it reflected us, rather than following traditional wedding conventions", the bride began. "We wanted our day to be totally relaxed – good food, good music and good people were the three most important things. We were also on a budget so had to make decisions about where we could afford to splash out and where we needed to reign in the spending and keep it simple."Read more...

Ben and Helen's biggest priority for their May wedding was that it wasn't stressful. "I found being engaged very, very intense. I was the ultimate nervous bride", Helen wrote. "In the end I decided I really just wanted to keep it as simple as possible but still be our perfect day. Our 1950s look evolved naturally and really suited our venue, Stockport Plaza. We loved that the venue didn't need much extra décor too. It really took the pressure off."Read more...
