Sophie and Michael's love of Tim Burton movies, particularly, Nightmare Before Christmas, inspired their November wedding. They were influenced by the aesthetics of Halloween Town, which is dark and creepy but has pops of colour. The bride had a black and white striped dress made for her by Rosie Red Corsetry & Couture which she wore with an OGSquad crown. The decorations were all homemade and their handfasting ceremony, led by a friend, featured the vows from Corpse Bride.Read more...

may look familiar because we featured their Tropical Cosmic Wonderland wedding in Mexico inside. Choosing to have a destination wedding did mean that many of their loved ones couldn't attend though, so they decided to have a second reception at home. They hosted it in their own property, The Real Magic House, which they also hire out for events. The day had a vintage circus theme and guests were encouraged to dress the part... which they did!Read more...

Getting engaged between Christmas and New Year hits in its own ridiculous, sparkly way. Fairy lights, leftover stuffing and suddenly you’re staring at a ring thinking "OMG this is it!". Welcome to the newly engaged bubble. It’s sweet. It’s surreal. It’s the only time you get to sit in the glow before the wedding machine tries to drag you in by the ankles.Read more...

A wedding without alcohol is like fish without chips. Or is it? Many couples are rethinking the culture of boozy weddings, and for good reason. More and more wedding guests are swapping their wines for cokes, whether they’re tee-totalers, Dry January participators who never went back, or simply casual drinkers who would rather avoid the headache the next day.Read more...

Diamonds tend to arrive in our lives loaded with meaning. Engagements, anniversaries, milestones, moments you want to mark properly. But once you start shopping, the conversation often turns into numbers, grades, and price brackets. What gets lost is how a diamond actually looks and feels when you wear it.Read more...

Luxury is a bit of a buzzword in bridal. Brands love to slap it on their website and Instagram bio and think that means they can charge above the odds. But real luxury doesn’t shout about why it’s the best. It’s in the experience and the undefinable reason why something feels extra special.Read more...

We love a Spotify playlist, but really, nothing beats live music at a wedding. A great live musician will change how a room feels rather than just filling the silence. The key to choosing the best performers for your day is is knowing why you want them there and where they’ll actually add something. Before you start booking, there are a few essentials worth thinking about:Read more...

Getting engaged is the most exciting time. What’s less exciting is when you actually start planning the wedding and realise you might need to remortgage your house to pay for the damn thing. It’s no secret that weddings are expensive. No matter the size or style, they’re a luxury - and luxuries always come with a hefty price tag. It’s not that there are vendors lurking in the shadows waiting to rip you off. It’s just that this shit is expensive. It just is.Read more...

Alternative brides customise everything. Dresses. Accessories. Playlists. Ceremonies that make your nan raise an eyebrow. But one detail often gets forgotten, even though it hits harder than any piece of jewellery: scent. The right women's perfume doesn’t just smell good. It becomes part of your day and brings you right back to it when you smell it again afterwards.Read more...

Maximalism is finally having its moment in weddings, and nowhere is this more apparent than with flowers. Couples aren’t interested in shrinking themselves into tradition anymore. They want colour, attitude, drama and a bit of glorious chaos. Florals are the fastest way to take a blank space and turn it into something loud, expressive and unmistakably you. And with online flowers services making big ideas easier than ever to pull off, maximalist wedding florals have officially gone from “maybe one day” to “add to basket”.Read more...

Sure Thing Chapel (and their second location, Sure Thing Too) in Las Vegas has become somewhat of a pilgrimage spot for alt couples who want a kitsch, quirky Vegas wedding. We see a lot of weddings in this space. We’ve featured weddings with rhinestones, leather, Hellvis, pink suits, black veils and every combination possible. Then Zuza and Marcin walked in and the way Tree of Life Films & Photos captured them almost shifted the room into something new.
