Forbidden Fruit Alternative Bridal Editorial

A single bite can change everything. That’s the energy behind Forbidden Fruit, a conceptual bridal meets boudoir shoot dreamt up by Suzy Marrero of Pepper Lavender Events. She calls it her “version of temptation meeting wedding day glam, where indulgence, lust, and allure take centre stage”. It’s unapologetic. It’s decadent. And it dares you to look a little closer.

Not a traditional wedding shoot concept by any means, this editorial takes its cue from the seven deadly sins, zeroing in on gluttony and lust. Suzy built a world dripping with desire and intensity, leaning into rich textures, sensual tones, and a strict monochrome palette that feels both dangerous and deliberate. “I wanted to explore the tension between temptation and indulgence,” she said. “The idea was to create something that felt a little dangerous, a little irresistible, and jaw dropping.” Every detail plays into that duality.

For Suzy, Forbidden Fruit isn’t just a visual experiment. It’s a statement on individuality and creative rebellion in an industry that can be incredibly rigid and regimented. “Individuality without apology,” she said. “This shoot reminds us that it’s okay to break the rules and create something that feels bold, offbeat, and deeply personal in your business or for your wedding.”

Suzy also knows that not everyone in the industry will get it. “The wedding industry can be such a strong and supportive community, but it also has moments where people look down on work that doesn’t fit the mould,” she said. “I’ve learned not to let that stop me from creating what I love.”

Her advice for couples planning their own version of rebellion is more of the same: “Do what you want. Do what you love. Do what feels right for you. Tune out the outside noise.”

We couldn’t agree more.
