I've got a bonus post for you today, simply because I couldn't help myself and wanted to blog this right away! Amanda and Walé got married in Cornwall, Polhawn Fort to be specific which overlooks a dramatic bay. Amanda wore a completely gorgeous bright blue Roland Mouret dress with pewter Jimmy Choo wedges (swoon.) The bouquet was a structural arrangement of Calla lilies and she clipped some pretty little butterflies in her hair. On a cold November Sunday morning a recent bride and her photographer headed down to a skate park for a bridal shoot complete with skateboarders, boys on bikes and a big dog (eek!) She wore her wedding dress which was by Donatella and two different pairs of shoes (no, not at the same time) which were both from Next. I am particularly loving the bright blue pair which were from their Runway Collection.Read more...

Oh baby, you are going to love these! Heidi & Rick's retro engagegement session just oozes 50's and 60's kitsch cool. Heidi wore a dress that she actually bought from GAP about 9 years ago and added the apron that she made herself. Toni & Richard had a gothic/burlesque inspired wedding at Prested Hall in Colchester in March of this year. "Our inspiration mainly comes from my admiration of burlesque and my unnerving love of Bettie Page (who I have recently had tattooed on me)" Toni told me. "Not being much of a girly girl and never one who 'dreamt of their big day', I didn't actually know where to start after the proposal. For those of you that follow me on twitter or facebook, you’ll already know that I jumped with joy yesterday as I finished my last full-time shift at my day job. Thanks to all of YOU and my crazy blogging/internet/wedding obsession I’ve been able to cut down on my TV producing hours in order to focus more time on you lot! This could quite possibly be the most emotionally charged ceremony I've ever seen! So. Much. Love. The intimate wedding (only 15 guests) took place at The Kings Road Registry Office and was followed by some good old fashioned English fish n’ chips. Quite apart from all this awesome, the couple, Fox & Cassie, are actually very cool themselves. Fox has made a record, written a book and played at Glastonbury and he was desperate to get married at the same venue as his hero Mick Jagger.Read more...

Mindy & Ben of Studio 6.23's photo session with the fabulous Amelia Lyon makes me so happieeee! Anyone thank knows me will be well aware what a colour fiend I am and so when I saw this I knew it was perfect for a-featuring! Oh Dan & Dayna you've made my day! What an awesome wedding and a fantastic story. I've been dying to share these all weekend! I knew this would be an awesome wedding in fact as soon a photographer Matthew told me that the bride was part of the Vaudeville Circus (you can see her in action here - far right in the white dress) "I wanted to have a rock-n-roll wedding that felt like Dan and I had our hands all over" explained Dayna "I spent a lot of time pouring over wedding blogs and getting inspiration from cool brides. I picked themes that we both loved like reading, hence the book center pieces and framed quotes from our favorite authors, Fall and the month of October (the colors and flowers), simple down home (and cheap!) mason jars as vases. All of our music the entire day was hand picked and never 'traditional': wedding procession we had our friend play the ukulele, bridal march was Cat Powers "Sea of Love" (followed by The Honeydrippers "Sea of Love" for our first dance), our walk as husband and wife was Joey Ramone's "Wonderful World". Our flower girls wore homemade tutu's, leotards and ballet slippers. We had a drawing after dinner with silly gifts of our life so far (a DVD of the first movie we saw, a pint glass from the restaurant where we met, a dvd of "It's a Wonderful Life" cuz we're nerds and watch it every year...). Kim & Josh's springtime engagement shoot took place at Meridian Hill Park in Washington DC. The leaf bouquet Kim & Josh had made from a cutting of a plant they were growing it in a vase. When photographer Levi, ran the idea of having flowers play a part in the shoot, instead of going out and buying cut flowers, they all thought it would be great to use a plant that they plan to grow for a long time...almost like a symbol of their love.Read more...

Rebecca & Michael wanted a French/Hollywood vintage glam style shoot to signify their engagement. They loved the idea of having a whimsical, vintage feel and Rebecca’s inspiration was that she wanted a shoot that really meant a lot to them as a couple. The fascinator she wore belonged to her grandma when she was young for example. "We were able to create some old Hollywood romance in a local cafe" Australian photographer Tenielle told me. "It looksed as if it belonged in the French countryside. The majority of the weddings and photo shoots I feature are sent to be by photographers or recently married couples, however occasionally I'll come across a session so damn cool that I have to email the photographer right away and demand to feature it! This was one of those sessions. I'd followed William Massey's work through a group on flickr for a while now yet it was only now that I really stood up and took notice. Philip & Anela were one of those couples that I instantly knew would suit Rock n Roll Bride to a tee - punky, retro, vintage, quirky, cool...they suited all these words that I overuse everyday on my blog.Read more...

Christina & Zack met up with photographers Katelyn Mizell of Split Second Photography and Shauna Maness of Shauna Maness Photography for a flea market inspired, rustic, outdoors engagement shoot. From the vintage finds to the fairy lights, everything about this session screams Rock n Roll perfection. Last night I was invited to attend the Luella's Boudoir event in London which I'd been looking forward to for weeks. It was such a fabulous event with some of the best vintage-inspired photographers and wedding vendors on show for all those lucky brides-to-be.
