They booked their country house venue for whole weekend and threw the party in the middle! The celebration was centred around the couple and their love of alternative music. Introducing: Couple, The Social Network For Two

Kat

June 18, 2014

No one can deny that social networking has changed the way we interact. More and more of us now speak to one another through a computer better, and much more often, than we do face to face. We're more likely to set up a Facebook event for our party than actually call our friends and invite them; we'd probably all send someone a birthday tweet quicker than sending them an actual card; liking someone's Instagram is easy, but tell them to their face that you loved something they did? Oh no, that's kinda awkward, and really, who's got the time?

Rebecca Douglas

June 18, 2014

On May 3rd, and with just £5000 to spend, Charly and Phil were married at Church of The Good Shepherd in Tadworth. They had their thrifty reception in the church hall next door! The bride wore a Nataya 'Titanic' dress and carried a homemade crochet bouquet. They saved cash by DIYing pretty much everything, from the flowers to the cake to the catering! Their entertainment was a two piece jazz band, made up of friends.

Assassynation

June 17, 2014

Being your own boss is the most wonderful thing. Since launching Rock n Roll Bride in 2007 I've discovered a LOT about myself, the wedding industry and running a business. But if there's one lesson I learnt faster than anything else, it was that I couldn't do everything myself. For example, I could have spent hours wrestling with Photoshop to come up with a design for my site, or I could work a little harder on the things I am better at so I can pay my designer to do it for me.

Emma Case

June 16, 2014

It's no secret that I am a Fur Coat No Knickers super fan. Laura and Emma are the purveyors of the friendliest bridal boutique in the country. No joke, these babes are some of the nicest human beings you will ever meet. For years now they've been the go-to store for vintage wedding dresses, and in 2013 they expanded their range to include made to measure designs. All lovingly handmade in Britain, they wanted to be able to help every bride, whatever her shape or size. They love their vintage gowns, but with vintage sizing being stingy at the best of times, it was really hard for them to cater to anyone over a size 12.

Tyrone Bradley

June 13, 2014

Wanting to combine two of their biggest passions for their big day, Nick and Kelli had a surf and flower inspired wedding. All the guys wore colourful Hawaiian shirts and the girls were in brightly patterned summer dresses! Kelli's dress was vintage, from the 1940s and cost her $8! The day was held outdoors, at The Litchi Orchard in Salt Rock, Durban. "Our wedding was surf inspired", wrote Kelli, "as we both surf and after watching the 80s classic North Shore together, we knew the theme we wanted straight away! Light, fun, floral, colourful and full of love!"

Washington DC based wedding photographer Rachel Couch of A-Muse Photography loves nothing more than working with couples on their wedding day. "I also do a fair amount of fashion and lifestyle work", she writes, "and I really value my ability to shoot within several different genres since I think it makes me look at everything with fresh eyes. 'Magical realism' is the name of the game -- I try to create photographs that are both epic and cinematic, but also honest and intimate."
