They were married in Cornwall, and Molly and Kelly were keen that the location be celebrated in their day. They held their reception in the gardens of Polpier House and had one long table set up for all their guests to sit at. Don't you just love that?!Read more...

October is proving to be one of my busiest months EVER! On Tuesday The Blogcademy announced it's 2015 dates as well as a Level 2 workshop (YAY!) and I did some filming in my house for something else we're launching in a few weeks time (I'm even more excited about this one and I think you will be too). More on all this soon!Read more...

Lor and Nico were married in France. An artist and a musician, they were always going to have a creative wedding. The bride handled most of the décor herself. "As an artist, Lor loves colour, and since this is part of her job she was keen to take care of the décor herself". began the groom. "She did the invitations and the entire venue set up. I play and sing in a Rock n Roll band so we also wanted an element of Rock n Roll in the day."Read more...

Looking back at my own wedding day, there's only one thing missing. The day was, for all intents and purposes, completely perfect, and while there might be a few stylistic things we'd do differently now, the day went off without a hitch. My only real regret about our wedding is that we didn't have a videographer. As the memories of that amazing day started to fade, I wished there was some footage I could look back on to relive those precious and fleeting moments. Unfortunately it just wasn't in our budget. However, if we'd known of a company like this one, who offer photo AND video packages, things might be very different.Read more...

Hannah, a wedding photographer, and her husband James decided while on holiday in 2013 that they wanted to renew their vows. They decided to do it in France in July this year. They only brought their two children with them as witnesses, but having a great photographer was also really important to them. They booked Jordanna Marston to go out with them from the UK. The ceremony took place on the banks of Biscarrosse Lac.Read more...

If you've been wondering when The Blogcademy's 2015 dates were going to be announced, then wonder no longer because I'm pleased as punch to be able to spill the beans today! But that's not all! One of the things many of our 600-odd students have told us after attending the workshop is how they wish there was an advanced class that they could come back to. They wanted to know more about the nitty gritty of running a blog or business full time, and they wanted us to let them in on the specific details of exactly what they need to do to make the big bucks! Well, we've listened, and today I am overjoyed to announce that The Blogcademy Level 2 is ready and raring to go!Read more...

I don't remember the exact date I started blogging. My first site got deleted in a moment of technical clumsiness sometime late in 2008, so my earliest posts are no longer on the internet. I'm actually rather pleased that my initial foray into writing about weddings is gone forever though because, man, that shit was embarrassingly bad! I do know that it was sometime during October 2007 that I registered my domain, which makes Rock n Roll Bride SEVEN years old this month and a relative dinosaur in the wedding blogging world!Read more...

Two brides, two gorgeous dresses and two sides of bridesmaids! Ria and Nicky wanted a wedding that screamed 'them'! That meant they threw caution to the wind, and tradition out of the window. "I’m friends with Nicky’s sister so we met on a few social occasions, such as parties, concerts and completing a London to Brighton race", began Ria. "However we finally developed a fancy to each other when a group of us went to Proms in the Park in 2011. I was technically ‘straight’ at the point I met Nicky, so she had no idea I liked her! Since that night we have been inseparable and the rest as they say is history."Read more...

Heather and Jeremy had a distinctive 1920s vintage theme for their South Carolina wedding. Held at The Farm at Ridgeway, the Friday wedding was a true labour of love, with the bride hand crafting and collecting nearly everything herself. She scoured thrift shops and antique stores and got a lot of things from Etsy.Read more...

Adrien and Nate met through their mutual love of music. The bride was in a band, Trouble Lights, and the groom booked them to play at his music festival. So clearly, music was going play a big part in their wedding. They were also inspired by the décor of Mexico, but they added their own unique twist to it.Read more...

Ahh it sure is good to be back in my own space, especially as while I was away Gareth replaced ALL THE CARPET in our house! It might sound like a weird thing to be excited about, but when we moved in (over seven years ago!) it was something we immediately wanted to change but it was the one thing we never got around to. It's such a big job we kept making excuses and putting it off.Read more...

Lindsey and Ned were married in Tasmania, at the bride's parent's farm. overlooking the ocean. Their reception was at Stanley Town Hall. "Getting married on top of a hill overlooking the ocean (where the next landmass is South America!) and utilising whatever venue we could find locally was a pretty unique experience", began the bride. "A weather proof reception venue was key to us as we can't stand a flapping marquee on a windy, crappy night which is so often the case in Tassie. We were so lucky that the only place suitable was a recently restored, beautifully painted Art Deco hall! And it was only $800 to hire for four days!"Read more...

Just because you're married, doesn't mean date night should go out the window. I actually think it's more important to make sure to keep it up once you're hitched. It's all too easy for life to get in the way and to forget just how wonderful spending time together is.Read more...

Featuring this wedding is a little bit extra special for me because I actually went to school with the bride, Emma! When she told me she was getting married, and hosting it in their own back garden, I insisted that she submit it to me afterwards. I'm so thrilled that she did! Emma is now a florist and owns the Green Parlour in Pangbourne, so clearly this wedding was going to be full of beautiful blooms. Just look her her bouquet! Epic or what?!Read more...
