I'm there to teach the first Blogcademy workshop of the year and we're staying right by the beach which is just what my sun-starved skin needs right now! Lindsay and Steve originally planned to elope in Las Vegas, but when the bride fell pregnant those plans had to change! "We had booked our wedding ceremony and flights to Vegas to get married in October 2014, followed by a UK Day of the Dead themed reception a week later", Lindsay began. "A week after we did this, I found out I was pregnant! Cue cancelling of the Vegas plans and, shotgun wedding in London, and the nicknaming of bump as B.V (Baby Vegas)! We brought our plans forwards to August and, fortunately, all of our other suppliers were super accommodating and we were able to move all our UK plans forward without a hitch."

In early December I received an email from Cole and Jakob of Nordica Photography, inviting me to speak at a wedding photography summit that they were putting on in Stockholm this coming October. It took me approximately 3.5 seconds to reply and say "OMG yes! Where do I sign?!"

Daniel and Keely had lots of different influences for their October wedding. From the bride's love of jewel tones - reflected in her dress and make up and the bridesmaid outfits, to their mutual love of travel. They even had art deco references in their stationery. It sounds like it shouldn't work, but it totally does because it was a real reflection of them.

Marcy and War's wedding was pirate themed! The day was held at Castello di Leguigno restaurant in Casina and their ceremony was officiated by a friend. Both the bride and groom wore pirate costumes made for them by Midnight Costumes. They also made the bride's bouquet from bones, shells and rope. The couple also asked all their their guests to dress up, and everyone obliged!

Dani and Mark mat three years ago at Balham Bowls Club in south London. So when it came to choosing a venue for their October wedding, nowhere else could have been more perfect! "The night we met I was quite hungover and was out for a friend’s birthday, Mark was out for some drinks with his friend (and best man) Paul. Depending on who tells the story, I apparently gave Mark ‘the eye’ as he walked into the pub, which prompted him to start talking to me later in the evening, OR (my version) I don’t remember looking at Mark as he came in and wondered why he was staring at me all night. Either way, he bought me a rum and coke and we were inseparable ever since."

I have to say, I think this second edition might be even better than the first. I had to write and pull together issue 1 really quickly, so having a bit more time to really make things perfect was such a treat!

A power cut the morning of the wedding might be most couple's worst nightmare, but Tyler and Jodi embraced it! The wedding was held at a private beach house in Malibu and the lack of power actually made their wedding even more special. Sure, they they had to get a bit creative with some aspects, such as the bride having to air-dry her hair, serving a BBQ for the meal and having no entertainment or music, but it really worked out so well! They even had candles and sparklers at the table which looked amazing!

Patty and Dani were married on their 13th anniversary at Château de la Grande Riedera in Switzerland. "The Inspiration for our wedding was to spend a relaxed day with our family and friends, where everyone would feel comfortable", Patty began. "The original plan was a quiet BBQ somewhere close to a lake, but that seemed to be a very difficult task. Somehow the venue, budget and date never fit together. As that didn't work out, we looked for something different and found the Chateau de la Grande Riedera, which was perfect. We loved that all parts of the wedding could take place at the same location, which made it a very relaxed atmosphere. It also allowed us to organise the caterer we wanted to have which brought us back at least parts of the BBQ idea."
