Mr & Mrs Tattooboy’s Heavily Tattooed, Ass Kickin’ Rockabilly Wedding

Do you remember Mr & Mrs Tattooboy? The hot tattooed couple behind one of my favourite ever engagement sessions? Well check it out – they got hitched and I’ve got the exclusive blogging rights on their killer wedding. When the couple first met, Kori was a cheerleader and Matt was a rocker and a tattooed artist. They soon fell in love and Kori starting getting just as much ink as her man!

“Kori & Matt’s aka Mr. & Mrs. Tattooboy, have this incredible rockabilly style & then some!!!” photographer Christina told me. “When I asked Kori about the details of her wedding she just told me she wanted it to be different from the normal-cheesy-blah type weddings, this made me really happy that she wasn’t giving in to what everyone else in the world was doing!  Their unusual story & love for tattoos & rockabilly style was inspiration enough for these two lovers to plan their wedding.”

“They knew they wanted their wedding to have a little of that rockabilly feel mixed with a bit of Hollywood glam, but they wanted to keep it simple. Kori told me that she loved antiques & wanted a retro/vintagey style wedding & they purely got most of their inspiration from the things that they love!”

“They took their vintage inspiration to the next level when they chose that amazing museum venue,” continued Christina. “They were married at Matt’s family church, but they did all of other festivities at the Kern County Museum which has many old antique houses/buildings from the early 1900’s. And if they already didn’t have enough color with their amazing tattoos, they held their reception among these incredible old neon signs. These two high school sweethearts & their rocker edge were screaming Rock n Roll Bride from the moment I met them.”

The bride wore a dress from Enchanted Bridal, which she accessorised herself by adding the red & black tulle. She also wore fishnet stockings and totally rad boots Hot Topic.  The groom wore his favourite hat and decided that instead of a traditional guest book they would ask guests to sign a skateboard.

DIY Victorian Nouveau + Rock n Roll Bride Interviewed!

I saw red tulle, I saw black feathers and I was smitten. Photographer Shannon Grant  set up this wonderfully Rock n Roll shoot with Mary & Matt to showcase some fun DIY styling with a Victorian Nouveau edge. “The bride’s outfit was a DIY affair with a custom made tulle skirt, a black silk dupioni flower sash and different colored ostrich hair feathers,” she explained. “The bouquet included feathers throughout as well. The groom wore black Chucks and had red accents to mirror the bride. We went out into downtown Plymouth MA and had some fun with the photoshoot!”

The lovely Shannon, also emailed me last week and asked if I’d take part in a new interview series that she’s started up on her blog. I was of course delighted to be her first victim and you can check out the interview here

A Punk, Rockabilly, Neo-Gothic, Country & Western Wedding

So Michelle & Mike’s engagement sesh was awesome and Michelle’s bridals were totally gorgeous…but you ain’t see nothing yet. Just you check out their wedding!

Their “Rockabilly, car kulture, punk culture, antiques, vintage & neo-traditional design and styling, neo-gothic, country/western, low-brow art, tattoo culture, vintage pin-up/greaser” theme perfectly reflected what they loved and how they live their lives on a daily basis. They were so excited to share this with all their friends and families (and now you Rock n Roll rabble too!)

The whole wedding was perfectly put together and customised by the couple to give the day a truly unique feel. Everything from Michelle’s dress – which she bought as a ‘standard’ dress and had red tulle and the red waist panel added to it and veil – which her Mum made; to the centrepieces – which they made themselves with a mix of antique Coke bottles with sand, red water, a gerbera and curled wood; to the placecards and invitations– which they also made themselves, were unique and interesting.

Be sure to check out the full list of everyone and everything that went into this fabulous wedding after the ‘jump’

An Irregular Choice – A Wonderfully Theatrical British Wedding

I woke up this morning to the news that the Rock n Roll Bride Mad Hatter shoot had been blogged by Irregular Choice shoes! Seriously, how glad am I that Vivienne Westwood didn’t deliver my shoes on time and Irregular Choice saved the day? I feel like all famous and stuff…

I thought then it only appropriate that I blogged this gorgeous Irregular Choice bride that I’d been planning to blog this week. I saw a few pictures of bride Sophie-Jayne in her amazing Ian Stuart dress and Irregular Choice shoes on the Schuh facebook page (they blogged about our shoot too!) and knew I had to find out more about this wedding. Sophie-Jayne & Jason got married at Sophie’s old College by a Reverend who used to be one of her teachers. After the very personal ceremony, everybody was transported to Sophie-Jayne’s parent house for the reception in her Dad’s Old Route Master Bus!

Fabulous 50’s & Multi-Coloured Tulle

As soon as a saw Catherine & Kev’s fabulous 50’s style wedding, my attention was drawn to one thing – that amazing Stephanie James Couture dress! I have been a superfan of the designer ever since I found and fell in love with this amazing multi-coloured tulle creation and OMG Catherine’s had a similar underskirt. She too fell in love with this dress when I featured in a while ago. “My maid of honour, Kirree, found a dress on Rock n Roll Bride made by Stephanie James Couture” Catherine explained. “It was the ‘Lustful’ or ‘Tame Fifi’ dress you featured a while back, as soon as she sent me a link to the pictures I knew that was the dress I needed to get married in! I quickly got in touch with Stephanie and asked if she could make me a similar version and she said yes!”
