After featuring Alissa & Rich’s crazy-stylish engagement last May , I couldn’t wait to see their wedding and they certainly haven’t disappointed! Alissa told me all about their ‘vintage, rustic, chic’ wedding.
“After an extensive search for a photographer, we found Laura Grier at Beautiful Day Photography . We fell in love with her laid back photo-journalistic style and her infectious positive energy. Through Laura, we ended up finding our wedding location, Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse in Los Olivos, California, based on the photos from one of the gorgeous weddings she shot there.”
the dress. “On a trip back home to NYC, I decided on a whim, to check out Selia Yang’s storefront on East 9th St. I walked out with a sample, a very simple white A-line dress with absolutely no frills. I flew back to Los Angeles with a simple mission, to make this my dream wedding dress. Luckily, I didn’t have to look very far. A friend sent me over to the miraculously talented folks over at Modern Nostalgia LA , who transformed my simple dress into a one-of-a-kind couture creation. With a lot of love, they handcrafted my vintage inspired headpiece, intricate bustle, and multi-colored petticoat (eeek I am a sucker for multi-coloured tulle!) which matched each of my bridesmaid’s dresses as well as a beautiful detachable shrug which was adorned with a handcrafted velvet flower and antique brooch in the center. They also made my beautiful bouquet fastener which coordinated perfectly with my overall look. Once it all came together, I felt as though I was an old time film star come to life.”

"When I asked Kori about the details of her wedding she just told me she wanted it to be different from the normal-cheesy-blah type weddings, this made me really happy that she wasn’t giving in to what everyone else in the world was doing! For their late summer wedding Sarah & James wanted something relaxed, quirky and quintessentially English So they opted for a tea party style reception in the Suffolk countryside. The wedding was held at Otley Hall, a 16th Century moated hall surrounded by 10 acres of gardens and which has been voted one of the top 20 Historic Houses in the UK.

Fancy having an eclectic outdoor wedding? Well have I got the inspiration for you today! With a hearty dose of elbow grease and a firm plan of action, Lou & Stu coordinated their Sheffield Botanical Gardens wedding mostly themselves.
"I'm a vintage events organiser so the vintage vibe was a natural way to go", began the bride. "We’re both big 50s & 60s fans so we tried to combine the two in terms of the fashion but we didn't want a fancy dress wedding. My dress was late 50s/early 60s in style (vintage, which I had altered to fit) and Stu’s suit was a 60s style tonic suit from Mod shop Jump the Gun in Brighton."

Ellie and Ed wanted their June wedding to not only reflect them - their likes and loves - but to be a fun day for everyone, full of DIY details. The day started with an emotional ceremony at Aldenham School, Elstree and the reception was in tipis on Buckettsland Farm, Well End. "We said the whole way through the planning process that we didn't have a theme but looking back it was essentially junk and glitter", began the bride. "If you ever saw our flat, you would know that we’re not matchy-matchy people in the slightest. I love tack and have a big collection of oddities, plus I have an obsession with the stars and the moon and anything glittery, so I always knew they would end up making an appearance."

Getting engaged on the top of Toyko Tower in Japan in 2010, Emalie & Duncan's wedding was never going to be traditional. With a bride rocking mermaid green hair and a groom adding a much needed modern twist to the tweed suit, this couple wanted a wedding that screamed 'them'. A field in Cookhill, Evesham was chosen as the location and the pair were married outside, in front of a homemade giant heart shaped flower wreath.

Tim and Scarlett were married on 8th August, their five year anniversary. They had a church ceremony followed by a tea party reception in the gardens of Baxby Manor, a gorgeous 705 year old Manor house. "We knew that we wanted somewhere beautiful, and Baxby ticked all the boxes", Scarlett began. "It even came with a glamping site down the lane for all our guests to stay over! Baxby isn't a wedding venue, just a luxury holiday letting, but the owners were amazing and let us create a beautiful day there, as if it were our own house."
