First up, I have to say a huge thank you to everyone that's emailed me with their DIY ideas. I've has a huge response and I'm really looking forward to sharing them with you over these coming weeks. Be sure to keep them coming! I'm starting with this amazing underskirt tutorial by Alexandra King, an independent designer from Somerset. I'm a huge Wizard of Oz nerd, so when wedding photographer extraordinaire Lisa Devlin asked if I fancied attending her first Photography Farm workshop to model in an 'After the Rainbow' themed styled shoot...well my biggest concern was whether I'd actually get to wear some ruby slippers...and you know what? I did!Read more...

So this week I spent most of my time hanging out with a bunch of amazing wedding photographers at The Photography Farm, hosted by photographer Lisa Devlin. We drank (way to much) wine and (too many) cocktails, some brave souls swam in the pool or hung out in the jacuzzi...oh and we even threw in a bit of learning too!Read more...

"The inspiration for this shoot really came from a morning cuppa with me and Hayley from Vintage Scoops, who owns a vintage ice cream van," photographer Shaneen Rosewarne Cox writes. "We became friends via Twitter and discovered that we live very close by. I couldn't resist a look at her fab ice cream van 'Betty' so we met up a few times. One morning over tea and lemon drizzle cake we decided to put together a shoot. 'Betty' is such a soft, pretty and summery ice cream van so we wanted to create a shoot that contradicted everything wedding-y."Read more...

When Rebekah & David's wedding landed in my inbox a couple of weeks ago I just about let out a 'whoop' of joy! Colour colour everywhere, what's not to love? Their CMYK theme is just perfect....perfect! "Shortly after our engagement, David suggested that we have a CMYK wedding" Rebekah told me. "Graphic design is a massive part of our lives and to base our wedding on the colours that make up a lot of printed design work (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key Black) made so much sense to us. It was so much fun applying CMYK theme to our day, from table numbers, to my wedding dress to our bridesmaids."Read more...

Happy Monday you gorgeous people...are you ready for some magic? Well get a load of this! I kinda don't have any words for how rad Alexia & Nick's e-session is, but when the magical Noa of Feather Love Photography emailed me asking if I wanted to share this incredible session I couldn't say really say anything else but yes! yes! yes! "For the rainbow shots, a unicorn puked onto my lens - it was magical" explained Noa.Read more...

Amanda & Stu's gorgeous engagement session is special for two reasons. Not only did the couple find their photographer Shell de Mar on Rock n Roll Bride, but it's the groom that is the big Rock n Roll Bride fan. I love that I have (a few, carefully selected and super special) male readers who can see past all the pink and glitter and enjoy the wedding fabulousness. So it was Stu who excitedly told me all about their shoot with Shell. "We first came across Shell via an engagement shoot featured on Rock n Roll Bride. We loved the way she managed to capture colours, fun and love (all the important things in life!). After we got in contact with her, she asked us to provide a bit of info about us and, looking back at the emails I got verbal diarrhoea and listed of a whole heap of stuff. I mentioned our love of bright colours in everything (clothes, art, movies, music and animals. I mentioned our Sphynx cat (Uzume aka Zoomy – named after the Japanese goddess of joy and happiness) who we obviously wanted included in the photos as she’s part of the family! I mentioned that we got engaged in Venice; that Amanda makes colourful glass jewellery; that we ski… and the list carried on. Thankfully this didn’t scare Shell off and she seemed as enthusiastic asRead more...

The thing I love about all you Rock n Roll Bride's is the diversity of all your weddings. Every morning my inbox is flooded with so many different wedding visions that it my days are never dull! Farley & Niko's wedding was planned in only 8 weeks. They explained, "We decided to go for it when Farley's Dad was diagnosed with pancreas and liver cancer. We therefore hadn't saved for it and had to cut corners where ever we could. We did have some very generous donations form family members which made it possible. I think we did it all within £4000 (that's 120 guests all fed)."Read more...

I was sent Troyene & Michael's wedding and day after sesh by their photographer Lara and I have to be honest I was instantly smitten with her dress! As a lady who loves a bit of multi-coloured action myself, I couldn't wait to feature both sets of images together. The is one hell of a bumper post full of rainbow joy (check out the cake and umbrella too!) The dress is question was created for the bride by a friend and she wore it with Vivienne Westwood shoes. Oh how I love this girl's style.Read more...

Mis-matched jewel tones and a peacock theme were the order of the day for Sheila & Austin's small and intimate wedding. The couple found the planning of their destination wedding in St. Petersburg difficult and enlisted the help of the bride's Mother with all the organisations but really put their hearts and souls into creating the prefect wedding.Read more...

Whitstable is such a little gem of a place for photo shoots. As most of you will know, my last Rock n Roll Bride photo shoot took place there but it would appear that Peri & Ryan knew some really awesome locations to visit that we never found. I mean just check out the multi-coloured beach hut. I love. The couple, who live in the area (hence knowing all the best places to go!) are having a winter wedding in December so wanted to make sure they cashed in on a gorgeous summer engagement shoot. "It also happened to be the Whitstable Regatta that Saturday so we decided to do the shoot in the evening to catch the fireworks" their photographer Shell told me. "It's the best time of the day really as we got some gorgeous light, beautiful sunset and some fish and chips whilst watching the fireworks! Their nicknames for each other are muffin and cupcake hence the chalk board shots - I wanted to have a fun, whimsical feel to the shoot as they are a cute young couple, and their wedding is going to be 50s polka dots which I think will have a similar feel."Read more...

As soon as a saw Catherine & Kev's fabulous 50's style wedding, my attention was drawn to one thing - that amazing Stephanie James Couture dress! I have been a superfan of the designer ever since I found and fell in love with this amazing multi-coloured tulle creation and OMG Catherine's had a similar underskirt. She too fell in love with this dress when I featured in a while ago. "My maid of honour, Kirree, found a dress on Rock n Roll Bride made by Stephanie James Couture" Catherine explained. "It was the 'Lustful' or 'Tame Fifi' dress you featured a while back, as soon as she sent me a link to the pictures I knew that was the dress I needed to get married in! I quickly got in touch with Stephanie and asked if she could make me a similar version and she said yes!"Read more...

Bright colours at weddings make me smile. We actually had a black & white themed wedding ourselves, but if we were to do it again (it feels like I'm always saying this!) a multi-coloured skittle-fest might well be the way we'd do it. "Andy & Colleen met at a rock festival several years ago" photographer John told me. "For the wedding, Colleen wanted to incorporate lots of color. She didn't want to limit her options and therefore decided on a 'Skittles' theme." The couple wanted to add bright splashes of colour wherever they could and chose to have all bridesmaids wear different styles and colours of dresses. The cake may be one of my new favourites to date - have you ever seen anything so spectacularly awesome?! It was made by Icing Dreams who helped bring Colleen's design and vision to life.Read more...

When I received a sweet email from Lizeth & Rafter asking if I'd like to check out their engagement session I was shocked to discover that their super modest and a-a-amazingly talented photographer Broin Hopkins had never submitted any of his work to a blog before! Blog land has seriously been missing out! I am over the moon and uber excited to be the first blog to share his work and this session in particular. Aren't Lizeth & Rafter such a cool couple!? She is a photograher herself and he is a music master. Rock n Roll indeed! Broin - get submitting your work to blogs - they will go nuts for stuff like this.
