May 22, 2014

Sam and Stu met at college and bonded over a mutual love of video games, "primarily how to get the knights of the round summon in Final Fantasy 7!" Sam laughed. So needless to say, when it came to tying the knot, the very thing that brought them together was to be the theme of the wedding. " We’re game geeks to the core! We wanted sleek quirky bright design with our gaming interest being the centre of it. We play tabletop RPG’s, board games and regular old video games."

May 8, 2014

Jo and Tony were married by a small lake on a friend's property in Denmark, on the south coast of Western Australia. The bride wore a dress from an op shop (she actually only decided the morning of the wedding what she would be wearing, after several changes of clothes!) and clear wellington boots! Tony wore an outfit also put together that morning from things he already owned or could borrow from friends. As you can probably tell this was the lowest of low key weddings!

March 20, 2014

Bryan and Brittany live in New York but were married in Oklahoma where most of their friends and family still live. They'd planned a very different wedding originally, wanting an all outdoor affair, but, just five weeks before the big day they realised it just wasn't going to work and they had to find another venue. Panic stations! Luckily, they came across The Womb art gallery, owned by Wayne Coyne, lead singer of The Flaming Lips. They asked him if he'd consider letting them have their wedding there, which he not only agreed to but he came along and partied with them too! Now that, my friends, is pure Rock n Roll.

"On my way home, a few minutes from the location, I drove past a lovely yellow house with tons of pink flamingos scattered across the lawn. I screeched my brakes and drove in reverse so I could capture a quick snapshot of the house. It instantly reminded me of the John Waters film, 'Pink Flamingos' and made me smile."

Elizabeth and Juan wanted their December wedding to be just like a High School Prom.
