They wanted their New Orleans wedding to be a celebration of their love that wasn’t bound up in ideas about gender or consumerism. Quinn, who married Natan’s in February, wore a stunning Scotch and Soda suit instead of anything traditionally bridal. They also didn't have a bridal party, their low key ceremony was in a park and they ended the day with an intimate gathering in one of their favourite restaurants.

Renee and Richie love candles but aren't big fans of flowers, so they decided to not have any at their November wedding. Instead they incorporated fog machines, smoke bombs and candles to create a spooky ambience on the day. The bridesmaids carried incense burners, and as the couple walked up the aisle to be wed, they lit candles held by their guests to guide them. They were also heavily inspired tarot cards, incorporating them in the invitations, signs and centrepieces at the reception.

This 20s style Halloween wedding started with an intimate ceremony in The French Quarter Wedding Chapel and their officiant was dressed up as Beetlejuice! LJ and Patrick were then joined by a crowd of friends and family in a traditional New Orleans Second Line parade to House of Blues, where theirs guests were met by peacock girls, sword swallowers, aerialists, and palm readers. Seph and Jason completely epitomise what Rock n Roll Bride is all about, and no it doesn't matter one little bit that there's no 'bride' in sight! The single thing that makes this wedding awesome AF is them... Oh and the fact that Seph wore goddamn crystal embellished stilettos for the day and looked way better in them than most women I know... Oh and all the Mean Girls references. OK OK there are many, many things that make this wedding slay my entire existence and I KNOW you're going to love it to.

June 17, 2013

Tyson and Allie's Florida wedding had a music themed wedding with touches of Halloween, New Orleans and vintage. They didn't want a stuffy and regimented wedding, they wanted a wedding that was a massive celebration of all the things they love. "Halloween is my favorite holiday however I didn't want to make that the main theme", explained the bride. "I wanted to add a touch of elegance. My first inspiration was our favorite place, New Orleans. We went on our honeymoon there and instead of making the wedding really obviously Halloween themed, we added the vintage New Orleans spin. It turned out to be the perfect mix!"

New Orleans Masquerade Wedding: Leslie & Collin

I receive upwards of 50 submissions on a daily basis, and needless to say I do see a lot of very similarly styled weddings. So when a wedding like Leslie & Collin's lands in my inbox I'm over the moon, thrilled and super duper excited to feature it because it's just so different. I'm totally losing my cool over this theme and the way the couple executed it. They also planned and styled the entire wedding themselves, making it a million percent more awesome in my book.
