We're sent hundreds real weddings every month to consider for publication so I'm sure you can imagine it's quite hard to narrow them down sometimes... When we hear the phrase 'boudoir shoot', there have been enough bad ones gone before to throw up connotations in the mind of something tacky, pandering to the male gaze, and overly sexualised for the wrong reasons. Today's editorial couldn't leave this further behind with its strong female subject who isn't looking for anyone's approval or attention, fresh and contemporary greenery, and a bright palette of whites, greens and pinks. And if that entire sassy black underwear range isn't in your online shopping basket by the time you're done here, we need to have words.Read more...

Sarah and Scott's September wedding was originally meant to be held completely outside in a beautiful hollow in the trees at Hirst Priory, amidst beautiful lighting and hay bails for everyone to sit on. However, thanks to the UK weather and its mischief, they had to rethink and bring the outdoors in for much of it, including the arch! But then check out those moody skies and try and tell me you don't love them. Do not fear the rain, people. It can never bring a good wedding day down.Read more...

What's really beautiful and original about this shoot is how it has cleverly positioned lots of opposites - the hard textures of the geometric ornaments versus soft textures like the velvets, and the earthly rock crystals and smoke next to the heavens and galaxies depicted in the tablecloths. It's created a styling synergy and a very interesting dynamic. Alongside these oppositional details, there are also elements that come together, echo and complement each other, creating yet another line of interest. There's way more here than meets the eye than just pretty styling for its own sake - there are connotations and depth to be experienced and inspired by.Read more...

Jade and Nick's wedding was a riot of gorgeous colour and elements that really reflected them as a couple, at the ultra-cool Houdini Estate in Los Angeles - yup, that's the old estate belonging to Harry Houdini himself! Jade is a big fan of bright colours, and Nick is a robotics engineer, so when planning the wedding, they thought they'd combine the more whimsical county fair vibe with the more ye olde worlde futuristic side, and came up with a vintage world's fair look, which worked PERFECTLY.Read more...

Jane and Ben were married in South Africa in April. They wanted their wedding to feel natural, beautiful and 'foresty'. Amy and Patrick had a very short engagement; they decided in April that they would get married in September! They wanted their wedding to reflect who they are, to be at a beautiful venue, and have amazing food and great music. It was also important to them that it was a relaxed, casual day that included all their guests. They decided to source and plan it all themselves, to make it truly reflect 'them', which also meant they could tweak things and push more money into the 'guest experience'.Read more...
