Eclectic & Bohemian Tipi Wedding on a Farm

Andrew and Caroline had an eclectic themed wedding in a tipi on a farm. They knew exactly the kind of wedding they wanted and they hired fantastic suppliers to bring their ideas to life! “Our wedding was a gorgeously unique quirky vintage wedding with boho vibes and laidback funkiness!” explained the groom, “After our church ceremony we had our reception in a tipi at Bassettwood Farm in Tissington. We looked at many venues but the farm was perfect for the kind of wedding we wanted. We wanted a relaxed day that flowed without stress or forced constriction and that is exactly what happened.”

One of the best things the couple did was start their planning early. “To be honest the whole planning process went very smoothly and was very relaxed”, Andrew continued. “We started planning the wedding very early, two years in fact. This early start combined with great suppliers gave for a trouble-free operation. Any issues were met by the suppliers with the ‘no problem’ attitude making the experience very pleasurable. The team at Peak Tipis were a dream to work with as was everyone else. We loved our flower arrangements and our naked cake. With very little guidance our suppliers took our initial brief instruction and wowed us on the day.”

Fantastic Fox Wedding

Taylor and Jay both adore nature, animals and exploring local wildlife, so when it came to planning their July wedding there was no question that this would be their theme.

“Jay proposed to me on the threshold of our newly purchased house with a rather large beautiful porcelain fox head ring from And Mary“, began the bride. “It was a fantastic ring but we did have to downsize to a smaller more practical rose gold fox from Kyle Can. The ring was a response to my love of nature and British wildlife. Foxes, badgers, birds etc are a design featured throughout our house and play a big part of our lives so it made sense to bring this part of our personality and life together into our wedding too.”

“The décor included animal themed tables, foxy touches here and there, a nest for cards and animal masks for the guests to wear. As the fox theme developed, we decided to make giant fox heads for each other, the groomsmen also had fox masks, bridesmaids had rabbit masks and my flower girls were barn owls. We also made our own elderflower champagne a month before the wedding. We picked the flower heads that were growing at one of our favourite local beaches, brewed it from scratch and bottled it up in foxy themed ‘Wet Your Whiskers’ bottles, one for each guest.”

Laidback Foodie Festival Wedding

laid back festival wedding (39)

Festival weddings aren’t going anywhere, which makes me very happy indeed! I mean, what could be better than hanging out in the sunshine, listening to your favourite music and dancing late into the night?!

Becs and Chris were married at The Winter Garden at Sennowe Park, Norfolk. They hosted their reception in a tipi on the bride’s parent’s farm. “We always said that when we got married we wanted a festival feel”, said the bride. “Festival for us meant relaxed vibes, happy music and street food! We love food and that was pretty much the most important bit for us. We got Manjit and Fish& to drive down from Leeds because we love their award-winning food so much! I guess it’s quite unusual to have Gujarati food at a non-Indian wedding but we love curry and Manjit’s is incredible. As is Fish& – we had three types batters for our fish pieces! Trumpet & Crumpet provided amazing canapés and delicious British desserts for us.”

“Since the farm is reasonably remote, we let people camp over in one of the fields too”, she continued. “We also had my mum doing the ceremony which made it pretty unique – not many people can say their mum married them! My mum became a registrar when I was one and it had been my dream to have my mum do my wedding ever since then!”

Colourful Yurt Wedding

COLOURFUL YURT WEDDING (49)

Rebecca and Stephan were married on the bride’s uncle’s farm. They hired a yurt which meant they had a complete blank canvas and could have exactly what they wanted. “When we started to plan our wedding we both wanted an outdoor vibe”, the bride said. “My uncle’s farm which overlooks the River Severn seemed perfect.”

“We have both travelled a lot and so there were a lot of influences that came though in our choices, such as the Mongolian yurt, Mexican bunting and lots and lots of colour. We wanted a relaxed laid back day full of fun and nothing too formal or stiff. We also wanted to use lots of local suppliers and sourced most things locally and most through friends.”

Hippy Boho Farm Wedding

Gabriella and Iain wanted a relaxed and rustic wedding. They picked Lower Grange Farm in Kent as their venue. “When planning our wedding we wanted to make sure that it reflected us, rather than following traditional wedding conventions”, the bride began. “We wanted our day to be totally relaxed – good food, good music and good people were the three most important things. We were also on a budget so had to make decisions about where we could afford to splash out and where we needed to reign in the spending and keep it simple.”

The bride handmade a lot of things for the wedding including the cake, the stationery and most of the décor. “I absolutely love organising parties and being the hostess and I also love crafting and DIY projects, so I knew that I would be able to do a lot of things myself. I took inspiration from wedding blogs and from Pinterest so I quickly built up an idea of the look and feel I wanted for the day and created lots of lists and spreadsheets detailing what needed to be done and how much everything would cost.”

Candy-Coloured Farmhouse Elopement

Thea and Cody both struggle with anxiety, so not wanting to be the centre of everyone’s attention, they decided to elope on their own. They had a small reception for their friends and family a month later.

“We knew we wanted our wedding to be small”, began the bride. “When we found out that we could have our ceremony at the House on the Rock, a location mentioned in one of our favourite books (American Gods by Neil Gaiman) and the site of our first vacation together, we knew it was the perfect spot.”

“We wanted our wedding to be a true reflection of who we are as individuals and as a couple. We focused on what we love about one another, and the promises that we knew we could keep. We also bucked the system a bit by only letting 12 other people in on our secret before the ceremony, and 9 of them were invited. We only invited our very closest friends and family, because we didn’t want to feel like we were there to impress or entertain anyone. I think what made our wedding unique was our dedication to making it ours. We only included the things that were important to us, and we ignored the rest.”
