Laura and Dom got engaged at the Grand Canyon while on a trip to Las Vegas. As they both love the city and 1950s glam, they decided that should be their wedding theme. Laura wore a red wedding dress, and they had a polka dot theme for the bridal party; the bridesmaids wore 50s style polka dot dresses and the groomsmen had polka dot pocket squares. For entertainment they had casino tables, a pianist, and Laura did a choreographed dance with her dad.Read more...

Heather and Iggy's wedding took place in St Omer Park, Queenstown. Their lakeside ceremony was intimate and perfect for them. "We chose to have a short ceremony in a Queenstown park on the edge of Lake Wakatipu ($35 hire fee to the council - yeah!) We narrowed down the precise location the day before, and then updated everyone via our prepared contact lists. The set-up was easy - a few chairs for those that needed it, strings of cranes placed in the willow trees by the best man and Iggy, and a few well-coordinated meet-ups with the celebrant and my brother that played our music from a portable speaker."Read more...

Erin and Beau's October 31st wedding had a very obvious theme - skulls! "The theme for the wedding definitely had to incorporate skulls", said the bride. We are also lovers of the colours black and red so it all just fell in to place really."Read more...

Alex and Maddy had different ideas about what their wedding should be like, but luckily they learned to compromise! "When we first started discussing the type of wedding we wanted, we realised we were on opposite ends of the spectrum", explained the bride. "Alex would have been more than happy with a simple registry office with minimal guests whereas I wanted something where we could celebrate with all of our friends and family, where I could feel a bit like a princess for the day! In the end we agreed on a rustic woodland theme and kept to a relatively small budget considering the size of our guest list. We had 105 people (big families!)."Read more...

Bride's wearing non-white dresses are becoming more and more commonplace (yay!) and nothing thrills me more than seeing and sharing a beautiful babe rocking her own style on her wedding day. There were parts of Becky and Stewart's wedding that were traditional - the grand manor house, the toastmaster, the order of the day, and others that couldn't have been more Rock n Roll. The bride wore an incredible blush pink wedding dress and veil, their portraits featured smokebombs, and there were nods to their mutual love of music throughout. This wedding goes to prove that you can intertwine the wedding traditions that you like with the alternative elements that you crave and it will still totally work!Read more...
