"There's a magical place, we're on our way there With shoes in their millions all under one roof..." Seriously, Irregular Choice should totally steal the Toys 'R Us theme tune because never has anything more accurate been written about how I felt walking into their flagship store. Last week I was invited by their head office to go visit the Carnaby Street shop and pick out some pretties to take home with me! Well, they didn't have to ask me twice.Read more...

The guest list/ invitation/ RSVP process is arguably one of the most stress-inducing parts of planning a wedding. Whether its the costs involved, the general logistics or the fact that people seem incapable of RSVPing on time... its enough to turn the coolest cucumber of a bride into a raging monster.Read more...

Renovation pro tip: If you want to get your significant other to step up their DIY game then plan a photo shoot in your building site of a home as a matter of urgency! A few months ago I booked a collaboration with a super cool wedding brand (more on this soon!) and had the idea to shoot some of their products in our house. At the time I figured that surely by November the rooms we wanted to shoot in would almost be finished… or could at least be passable for the purposes of some staged shots.Read more...

Jem and Dom were married in June at Mulberry Lodge in Little Mongeham, the site of a festival they'd been to and loved. Their budget was just £4500 but with DIY catering, a homemade wedding dress and lots of help from friends and family they were able to create the most beautiful day.Read more...

If you're one of the growing number of couples that opt not to have a wedding gift list, did you know you'll actually be missing out on more than just the 'stuff'? I suspect most people that don't have them either think they already have everything they need or they don't want to appear 'rude'. Now I don't like to be a Negative Nancy, or the voice of impending doom, but I do think that if you forgo a gift list you will regret it. Here's why:Read more...

Picking a wedding band that you know you're going to love can be tricky. While all the experts recommend you do as much research as possible and try to go see your potential band play before you book them, we all know that's not always practical for a busy bride and/ or groom-to-be!Read more...

If there's one thing that makes a wedding go off more than anything else, its the right music. Hiring a killer band or fantastic DJ is a great idea, but if the entertainment budget is tight then a DIY playlist is the definitely the way to go! I'm sure many of you reading this are already planning to do that in fact which is why I'm thrilled to introduce you to My Wedding Songs today. Their aim is to make the job of compiling your perfect wedding playlist much easier - and it's totally free to use!Read more...

Lisa and James had a super intimate, really casual wedding in Dublin. They planned it in just one week and their focus was only on the things that really mattered to them - getting married and celebrating with their loved ones. They didn't buy into the wedding industry machine, the bride didn't even wear a wedding dress, and they only spent €1000!Read more...

Sorcha and John met when the bride was doing doing drinks promotions at a rock and metal bar in Dublin. "I noticed this 6 ft 7 gothic man with long black hair", she said. "He was hard to miss! He approached me and then drank a bunch of the test tube shots that I had, which had lots of caffeine in them. I found out afterwards that he’s allergic to caffeine and was violently ill afterwards! A few months later, our paths crossed again in the same bar. We got a chance to talk properly and realised we had everything in common. He asked me out to dinner and our gothic romance took flight."Read more...

Around five years ago, after way too much abuse from DIY bleaching, my hair was in a bad place. It was dry and brittle and wouldn’t grow past my shoulders before breaking off. Naturally, my hairdresser wasn’t impressed and helped me to see the damage I was doing to it through over-bleaching. If you’re partial to a splash of unnatural colour in your hair the chances are you can totally relate to this problem.Read more...

Nina and Zakk were legally married in Sweden, where the bride is from and the groom works as a tattoo artist, but also wanted to have a celebration in the UK, where the groom grew up. Despite living in Sweden for the last few years Zakk has a lot of family and friends in the UK so having a second celebration on Zakk's parents' property made a lot of sense. The location was a sprawling, beautifully maintained stretch of land that boasts a duck pond, tree house and playground - perfect!Read more...

By now you've probably already heard of, or even considered, having your eyebrows microbladed. A few of my friends have had it done and always raved about it, but I'd honestly never really considered it for myself. I've always been pretty proud of my brows. Thankfully, I managed to swerve the over-plucked trend of the late 90s (due mostly to laziness than anything else!) so I didn't think I really need it done. However when I was invited by Sian Dellar to try it out, I thought it would be a really interesting experiment.Read more...
