Vicki and Olly wanted their August wedding to be bright, colourful and quirky but most of all; them! They went for a wildflower theme and all their guests were asked to attend in their ‘finest, fancy florals’. As well as flowers, they tried to incorporate other things they love; dinosaurs, alpacas, Lego and gnomes.Read more...

Ya know, we may not be able to be together in the same physical location right now, but that doesn't mean the wedding industry stops. I'm getting so excited when I see vendors using this unprecedented down time to get creative so hats off and standing ovations to Lisa and Neil of Him and Her Wedding Photography for this out-of-the-box thinking!Read more...

Julia and Roo met at a metal club in London over 11 years ago. When it came to planning their October wedding, they knew they wanted to go for a very dark theme: They based it around their love of Harry Potter, the moon and general witchy things. They chose a full moon for their wedding date and crammed in as many personalised touches as their £10,000 budget would allow.Read more...

When it come to planning their May wedding, Adeline didn’t start out with the mindset that she wanted it to be unique of alternative; she just wanted a day that represented herself and her partner, Nelius, and what they love. They didn’t want traditions forced on them just because that’s what people do at weddings, so they nixed traditions like cake cutting and bouquet tossing, and kept some things they loved. “I just wanted to look pretty, marry my man and have loads of fun with the people I love the most!” explained Adeline. “Nelius wanted good food and drink, and that’s what the man got.”Read more...

Matt and Julia had planned to get married In Hawaii this coming July, with their reception to follow in their hometown in August. But with the current uncertainty around the COVID-19 pandemic, they weren’t sure if their dream wedding would still happen the way they planned. Voicing concerns to Julia’s co-worker, who happens to be a licensed officiant, she offered to marry the couple at the tattoo shop Julia works at before their state went into lockdown. “I think one of my friends summed it up best by saying ‘you got married at a tattoo shop, by a tattoo artist, in the middle of a pandemic; that’s the most punk-rock thing I’ve ever heard!’” said Julia.Read more...

With the surname of ‘Gather’, Luke and Louise couldn’t not be inspired by this for their September wedding, and so ‘The Gathering’ was born - a bringing together of all the people who mean the most to them. The venue was a no-brainer. Luke grew up around the corner from Elvaston Castle in Derby, and went for regular walks around the grounds. The couple live together nearby and walk their dogs there regularly, so it holds a special place for them.Read more...

A few years ago, Ben saw something on social media about a couple who had invited their friends to a 30th Birthday party and then ended up surprising them all with the fact they were getting married. He told his (then) girlfriend, Alice, that he thought it was a brilliant idea and that he’d love to do something similar if they ever got married as he hates all the ‘fuss’ that a wedding tends to bring.Read more...

He moved in with me the following weekend!”Read more...

Arlene and Lee love the fifties aesthetic, rockabilly and hot rods. So, when it came to setting a theme for their summer wedding, there was no question what it would be! They chose Tomlinson's Farm Shop and Camping field for both the ceremony and and reception. Although they were the first wedding that had ever been held there, they knew it was perfect for their vision as soon as they visited. They loved the views and the owners were so accommodating - they even supplied the haybales.Read more...

With a budget of just £4000, Kirsty and Ben knew their wedding plans had to be different to the majority of the weddings that Ben, a musician in a function band, sees day in day out. They wanted to have their day in a beautiful setting, but kept their guest list small to limit the expense. The wedding was held on a Thursday and they had just 13 guests at the reception, and had everyone sat around one big table for the meal, just like they were hosting a family meal at home.Read more...

Adam and Steph always knew they didn’t want a big wedding - they were joined by just five guests (and their toy elephant!) for their September wedding at Allerton Castle in North Yorkshire. Allie and Brian describe their first moments of falling in love as ‘like the same existential self-discovery that so many people waxed lyrical about in the late ’60’s and early 70s’. So, coupled with their love of music from the same era (cosily nestled between the folk and Rock n Roll genres), they used this as a starting point for the shaping their wedding around that same kind of ‘groovy, grounding energy.’Read more...

By Southern standards, Abby and Evan’s wedding was out of the box. But by New York standards, their new adopted home, it was quite traditional, and they loved this about their day. “We wanted to create a wedding that merged our traditional Southern upbringing and our urban and modern New York life. We loved that our guests were able to experience parts of our story and personalities that they may not get to see every day, or haven’t seen in their experience with us.”Read more...
