Rock n Roll Bride in Tattoo Revolution Magazine

Kat

December 9, 2010

You may remember that over the Summer I was asked by my photographer friend, Al Overdrive , who not only shoots weddings and live music, but was shortlisted for Tattoo Photographer of the Year 2010, asked if I'd like to do a shoot and interview for new tattoo magazine, Tattoo Revolution. The magazine is a brand new non-profit and ethical magazine from some of the best in the UK tattooing industry. So in September, I headed to one of my favourite bridal shops, Fur Coat No Knickers in London, to do the shoot. I brought along my personal (hehe!) and favourite hair and make up gal, Elbie Van Eeden and the Rock n Roll Bride intern, Alice, for the ride too. You can read all about our day's shooting here, but for now, I hope you enjoy the article.

Best of Blogs – Issue 14 ~ Jasmine Star

Kat

November 5, 2010

I couldn't believe it when Jasmine Star first emailed me. I got a little bit fan-girly and squealed down the phone to my friend a little bit. So needless to say when it came to writing this month's Best of Blogs article there was only one lady I wanted to write about. I am literally honoured to have her on these pages with me. The woman is such and inspiration and I heart her. A lot. My virtual love affair with Jasmine Star began this summer when I watched a video recording of a seminar she’d held which was called ‘The importance of branding and its vitality in the wedding industry.’ After watching it, the way I viewed by own brand and business was literally changed forever. A dramatic admission maybe, but that’s how motivating her one-hour teaser video was: I ended up blogging about it, and I thoroughly recommend that you take a look.

Kat

November 2, 2010

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to bring you some very exciting news! A few months ago I was offered a regular column in one of the UK's biggest bridal magazines, WEDDING. Catherine, the editor, asked me to inject a bit of Rock n Roll into the magazine and to share with their readers some new Rock n Roll wedding trends. My pleasure! You lot make my job easy with your fabulous and unique ideas! Words can't express how excited I was to hear a thud as the magazine, featuring my first column, landed on my doormat this morning. How bright, colourful and fabulous does my article look? Double page spread too!

Best of Blogs – Issue 12 ~ Mad Hatter Rock n Roll Bride & The Power of Blog Networking

Kat

September 6, 2010

When I realised this month's issue of Photo Pro Magazine would be the twelfth featuring little old me I got all contemplative. Wow, I've been writing for this awesome photography magazine for over a year - not only where has the time gone, but seriously how much has changed in that time!? Lots I tell you! I wanted to make this article sort of a 'round up' style feature - i.e. what have I learnt over this past 12 months and how have I put it into practice. One of the things I've totally loved (and I think most of you have enjoyed seeing) are my photo shoots. I also wanted to give an almighty shout out to the girls involved in this epic shoot with the article too.

Kat

July 11, 2010

OK confession/apology time again. I'm forgoing this week's Sunday Kind of Love post. Eeek...don't be mad. Thing is, wedding season is nuts and I have so much awesomeness to blog that I only flippin' forgot to blog this month's Photo Pro Magazine article. Deary me. Bad Kat. So I'm sacrificing today SKOL (heheh) to share this with you instead. It ain't that the love has ended - far from that. In fact I've got so much love for so many of you at the moment that I couldn't narrow it down to one person ANYWAY...so win win. There, I now feel justified in my decision!

Kat

May 31, 2010

Anyone that's been following me in any capacity over the last 6 months will be well aware of my love and devotion to Emma Case. Not only have I featured as many of her weddings as possible (I can't get enough) but I've even been lucky enough to be photographed by her. I'd say we pretty much have communication every day (whether that be twitter, email, text or talking on the phone!) and I am honoured to call the talented and absolutely awesome lady my friend. So when it came to writing this month's 'Best of Blogs' article for uk photography magazine Photo Pro, who else was I going to choose? Enjoy...

Jewellery Focus Magazine

Kat

May 17, 2010

Do you remember Becky & John and their 'Most Curious Party' wedding that I featured back in January? Well, the lady is not now only a vintage wedding stylist, supplying vintage trinkets, teasets and details other brides and grooms to be (check out her company A Most Curious Party) but she is a brilliant writer. She was tasked with writing a piece on bridal jewellery trends for trade magazine 'Jewellery Focus' and she asked me to help her out. It was of course a pleasure and I'm more than happy after seeing that I've been put alongside gorgeous images of Flo & Percy, Pearls & Swine, Vintage Magpie and Karin Andreasson.

Kat

May 10, 2010

My life is nuts. Nuts. I don't exactly know how all this has happened but I'm doing the job I love, practically full-time, I'm getting featured in magazines, I've got people wanting to do photo shoots with me and now I've been featured in a new book by Emma Jones of Enterprise Nation all about 5-9ers - people like me who work a 'day' job and then in their spare time run their own business from home. Exciting huh?!
